No Kelly = LSU focusing on physicality. Will be a welcome change to see a rejuvenated team with intensity and no more playing soft.

Mansoor Delane on new level of intensity in practice:
quote:

I'm over there in individual drills and I hear pads thumping on other fields. Really just, I hear a lot of physicality. That's a big point of emphasis this week. Playing on the opposite side of the line of scrimmage. Making plays, getting off blocks, being physical. So that's just amazing.

Would have been badass if FW allowed video of practice this week less scripted plays etc.

One week of being physical isnt gonna change it. That take weeks if not months to change each player tp bring them to another level. Better late than never. This culture of being more physical in practice needs to carry over into next season, then we will see the benefits.

Yes….or maybe the team has given up on this year. Apparently, most of our fans have.

It was a name he could sell to the fans.

That’s all fine.

But this is something that needed to happen in the spring/fall

You don’t fix a physicality problem a week before bama

Win or lose, I just want to see effort and no OL being run over.

The logic was simple. BK had good success at ND where he had more limitations in recruiting certain players (academics).
The general thought was, with those limitations removed that success would be elevated. Sounded good on paper. IF he wins, it was worth every penny. He did not.
No one expected him to be such an incompetent horses arse. The 100 Mil is an entirely different conversation.

I understand the need for physicality but I can also see not wanting to get players dinged up before the game...I wonder how the in-season practices differ under Kelly versus under O, Miles, Saban, etc.

The players know their season could be saved with a win over Bama. However if they lose, it’s all over for sure.

Absolutely MIND BOGGLING that they weren't hitting in practice under Kelly. It is possible we see a real change in intensity this Saturday. And the Gumps don't have any tape on THIS LSU team.

I think the problem was there wasn't even the normal standard of physicality for a sport that demands it.

Extra emphasis to a team that is already physical can lead to unnecessary injuries.

Extra emphasis on physicality to a team that has none, is just playing football

Oh, OK. Should we just forfeit the remaining games?
