I don’t understand why mentally stable folks would be crying over NYC electing a socialist as Mayor.

The city doesn’t represent a cross section of America. Not even close.

To look at this election and believe there are “take aways” that foreshadow doom for R’s is just plain dumb.

NYC does not represent American values at all.

Places like Hammond in Louisiana where we work hard, go to church every Sunday, and put an importance on family are what America is all about.

It’s a concern only if you believe the virus will spread.

Look at the voters in VA accepting the premise that violence is OK.

This isn’t isolated to NY.

Muslim no go zones aren’t fake.

What does the x-section of America have to do with a local Mayoral election in NY?

New York is an important city to the country. There isn't any one city that represents America because the country has so much variety, but culturally its very significant. Millions live there, millions travel to there every year both within the US and from outside of it. Countless movies shown worldwide are filmed there every year. Its kind of the world's window into America and our window out of it in a way. I love NYC. Contemplated living there before even though I'm very much someone who enjoys owning land.

I'm not 'crying' over it, but I do think its a sad day for the country and potentially the start (or maybe just the continuation) of a downward trend for us.

well, it shines the light on much bigger problems that can/are spreading across the country. It’s not NYC itself, I agree, frick NYC.

My comment on this is why has the federal government allowed it? Should have been taken over, shut down and everyone removed.

I think it’s great. Let them be the guinea pigs and show the rest of the country that it doesn’t work.

I hope that it fails on a monster scale and all these young people who are supporting socialism will see just what happens.

I have a lady who works here and she has family still in Venezuela and we were talking about this election. She told me that her parents are still there and that they live in highly populated city and don't have running water, electricilty, or gas.
Just a few steps away from when they were a socialist country.
