About 3/4's of the way through the book "Atlas Shrugged" she describes the big city becoming more dysfunctional every day, yet the people continue to elect communists, and fight over the remaining scraps.

Dumb, low IQ people don't have the interests / wants / desires / fears that you and I do.
They want free things. No consequences when they commit crimes. Etc. As far as they see it : they've got nothing to lose and everything to gain from Mamdani.

I haven't read the book, but her crystal ball was very clear regarding that prediction.
It's a real shame what has happened to our big cities.

I would agree that Rand does test the reading comprehension skills needed to navigate the 1500 page book. For the less educated, you might try watching the three movies that made from that book. You would of course lose the effect of reading the 130 pages soliloquy .
When the revolution comes and the internet is no more, my library will include Atlas Shrugged, Perry's Chemical Engineer's Handbook and the Bible

Atrocious.
You don’t have to die on the hill. Anyone who bothers to pick up her works will swiftly agree.

But if you can wade through the entire book she is right about a lot of things.
Are we at the stage where the innovators, the movers and shakers just say frick it and move out to a hidden location and live their own life.?

Capital is more mobile than it has ever been. And it’s never been particularly immobile.
People never expect the radical responses to radical political decisions.
I was talking with an elderly guy in Saint Louis who helped craft the busing policy that took kids from the city and allowed them to attend suburban schools.
He said, “We never envisioned that people would move hours from their jobs and the city to not be part of the districts who received busing students.” Which is amazing and unsurprising at the same time.

She wasn’t trying to be Marylin Monroe.

Taking the intellectual superiority angle in a thread where you wiffed on Rand's first name is hilarious

Would agree. Capital will go where it's treated the best.

Our societal incentive structures have made drastic changes just in the past couple hundred years, resulting in people who equate government to the vehicle which provides wants and needs rather than that vehicle being work or money.

Being an author consists of writing and story-telling. Her brilliance in the latter makes up for the former

Thankful that Atlanta’s Mayor got re-elected. Yes, he is a Democrat but he has been a very good mayor who doesn’t care about the national politics and all of the woke shite
