He said this:

quote:

Was told before the weekend LSU had a legit offer on the table for Nick

He is considering that offer seriously

Control and details being worked out

But verge said “no chance Saban coaches again, Ms. Terry won’t allow it.”

So, he told them no?

It is weird that the guy from bama came. Saban supposedly wanted to pick the AD, not far fetched to think he’d choose Verge.

But I doubt this happens.

Is it possible that he just said no? I mean, is it that crazy that we offered, he considered, and ultimately said no?

Well except for the fact that he said 2 people told him that Lane Kiffin would be the next coach then a couple of days later he's saying that we are offering Saban the job. Along with several other things that he has been wrong on. His "sources" have proven to be shite.

I have no doubt that somebody made a call but I think Nick flat out said no real fast no matter how much he may dislike Pat on game day set. I don’t believe they made a big offer or that he was considering said offer and was really contemplating it. Fact is he is content in retirement, would absolutely not do that to Bama and possibly tarnish his legacy as the GOAT by taking this shite show on

Nick probably said no

we get it

now the question is, who can we get excited about?

only a few names

I am worried LSU will not deliver on the "biggest job available"

correct. I’m not saying he is flat out making crap up for clout or attention but his sources are wrong about as much as anyone else on here. Superfandan I think is his name has been right for the most part with his sources recently.

right off the bat after Kelly’s firing tons of people here said “Make Saban say no” or that he should be your first call no matter what… That’s probably exactly what happened. He’s way too old and not interested in NIL so it’s not like it’s a letdown, if that’s what happened it was expected.

Now if Kiffin is actually offered and says no after philly’s smoke that he was a top target then that would sting. Getting turned down is a blow to the “top job” status

Well that’s the thing, he could be lying or his sources are lying or just mistaken, or it just didn’t work out that way. Probably no way of proving either way.

The rumor is that LSU rejected Saban’s counter offer. The new president was then announced, and then Verge was named AD from interim.

So we’re going to cheaper route is what it seems.

That’s a bullshite rumor, they would be so stupid to do that. Fact is that saban is really the only one who could move the needle right now, and that is worth them paying whatever this supposed counter offer that never happened was.

I couldn’t agree more. I’m just as upset about it as you.

I think that LSU was too afraid to take the risk, but I thought that the figures discussed were a bargain where the new era of college football is going. Revenue would’ve been tight the first two years but it would’ve been the right investment in the future.

Pretty simple. LSU offered Saban, they would have been stupid not to. As expected, Saban said no thanks. Makes sense.

It sucks that Verge put an end to the fun so soon in the search, but it is what it is.

I don't think Saban is coming but this shite is hilarious. Any critical thinker would think...well what could Verge have said otherwise? The answer is nothing.

I bet you believe every coach when they say they are happy where they are and would never leave...right before they leave.

Doesn't mean the smoke wasn't or isn't real. Just no fire in the end. The interest and offer can be real, but the parties may just not quite come to an agreement in the end. Just because it hasn't happened or didn't happen doesn’t mean there wasn't legit smoke to it.
