at the 14:45 mark.

Moscona asked Verge about the hiring process. (Pretty good interview too even for Moscona)

Verge says Rousse approves of his “target”.

I’m thinking Marcus Freeman since that’s who Verge’s son plays for.

This hire would underwhelm me big time. I have no desire for Marcus Freeman.

Dude will never leave ND unless it’s to replace Ryan Day at Ohio State. He loves the Midwest too much for some stupid reason.

Another reason why Sconeman is the best in Louisiana

I think Freeman would be an good fit at Lsu. However, why would he leave when he is basically guaranteed a playoff spot every year with a 12 team playoff?

You think he would rather play Air Force, Army, and Navy vs. Texas, Alabama, Georgia, etc?

That’s ridiculous. He’d be a phenomenal hire

Maybe he hates indiana and the cold? He knows the talent we grow down here.

Marcus doesn’t strike me the type to stay at ND forever

Freeman wouldn’t be my first choice, but I’d be happy with him. He’s impressed me the last few years.

he would be a great coach

players love him and play very hard for him...

he's better than I thought

he took ND to the playoff year 1 and probably in year 2

Barely lost to UM and A&M

Weak hire if so.

Regardless of who they hire, they can’t please everybody. You don’t like Freeman, many stated they wouldn’t like Kiffin, or Dillingham, or Drinkwitz, or Sumrall, or Heupel, heck many on here didn’t even want Saban back lol. There is no clear cut coach that literally every LSU fan will agree on. But you gotta take a stab at someone.

Didn't he lose at home to Marshall and Northern Illinois?

no disagree there. We all have our preferences.

This cycle is extra hard.

There is a zero chance Marcus Freeman leaves ND for LSU. I'd bet my life, in the literal sense, on it.

When exactly do you think he replaced Brian Kelly?

He has been a bit of a mixed bag, but he is a young coach and has also shown some good qualities. Only his team last year has finished with less than two losses in the regular season even with ND's easier schedule. And as you mentioned, he has had some bad losses.

On the bright side, his teams seem to play physical on offense and defense and he did manage to get to the national championship game last year. They got a break with Carson Beck when they played UGA, but in the end, they beat who they played in the playoffs to make it to the NC and have had some good performances against a number of solid teams.

It will be interesting to see how ND does next year though because they will be losing their monster RBs who are most of their offense this year. Before that, Freeman was able to get a 6th year transfer QB and another senior transfer QB with wheels to go with a solid roster. The unknown for Freeman is how well he would do rebuilding because he inherited a very good program with BK that went 11-1 and had won 55 games in 5 years. And ND's schedule is easier than playing in the SEC.

No more ND coaches, thanks.

And he’d be nuts to leave there. He’s built a good program and has a much easier route to the playoffs every year.

I don't think his painted on hairline will survive the south Louisiana heat and humidity.

He took over a team that in the five years prior to him being named head coach went:
10-3
12-1
11-2
10-2
11-1

ND was also top 15 or better in recruiting each of those years.

Brian Kelly sucks, but he built Notre Dame in to what it is today.

Having said all that, Freeman would be stupid to leave ND. He's getting paid and as you point out, basically has an automatic playoff berth every year.
