Lack of interest in Saints Players

It’s proof of the job Mickey Loomis has done in the last 7 to 8 years.. nobody wants the players he drafts

No.
Lack of agreeing to low ball offers is much more likely.

What is your evidence of lack of interest in Saint players?

They traded two guys on expiring contracts and were talking about trading Taylor, who is expiring. As much as we all want Ruiz and Werner gone, they have tremendous cap hits if we get rid of them. They actually made the smart moves that don't jeopardize our future cap space.

What inside into do you have that there was a “lack of interest”?

Just because deals don’t get made doesn’t mean there wasn’t interest or deals offered.

fricking chicken littles everywhere today.

When everybody on the team was available outside of maybe a handful of players and we only traded two of them… yea Lack of interest

Absolutely it could be lowball offers, but when you have a player like Chris Olave, I would’ve took a seventh round pick for that dude because you’re not signing him next year… once again it could’ve beenMickey with his great negotiating contracts..

sounds like the chicken Littles are in Love with Mickey Loomis wow

Very few trades get made at the NFL trade deadline. The Saints made 2. You’re a clown

Pretty much everyone in the NFL is available for trade, yet most deadlines only have a dozen trades. What exactly were you expecting? The Saints still have to field a team for the rest of the season.

I do agree that there was a lack of interest when the state should be wholesaling players left and right… Mickey is to blame I agree… But I think a lot of teams are satisfied with what they have so the Saints got what they got

You don't know what the interest was. We know from reports that Ruiz and Alontae Taylor got attention, but since they didn't move, the price wasn't right for the Saints. Alvin ordered a Code Red on any attempts to trade him, which means there were calls; otherwise he wouldn't have said what he said.

You cannot trade guys for too cheap no matter how much of a rebuild you are in. That's a bad precedent to set.

I've been saying it for a few years now, we need to release these old guys. The trouble with loyalty vs. ability is evident in their record. Mickey Loomis should be replaced now! What has he done for the Saints, lately? Isn't he the power that be over the Pelicans, too?

Just look at the draft classes from 2020 to 2024 (5 years).

Rounds 1 to 3 where teams expect to find long term starters and contributors. 6 starters (including Ruiz & Olave, so there's that), 3 flat out busts (Foskey 2nd, Penning 1st & Turner 1st, Davenport is another but he was drafted earlier), 3 no longer with the team including the badly misused Zach Baun and finally Kendre Miller who is always hurt.

No one drafted in the later rounds other than Rattler & little used Jaylon Ford are on the current active roster. 3 are on IR, but they are not big contributors either, Landon Young, Bub Means and Saldiveri.

This, along with salary cap hell is why the team is last in the NFL this season.

This is fact, but it doesn't prove no one wanted Saints players or that the Saints have no players on their roster worth trading for.

Their were reportedly several players other teams inquired about. Kamara being one who came out and said he would rather retire than be traded to another team.

Olave was apparently highly sought but the coaches and team ultimately said no because they want him for the future and are working on an extension.

Other names that were reportedly inquired about or the team approach them were
Demario Davis, Cam Jordan, Pete Werner, Cesar Ruiz, Brandan Cooks.

Certainly not a lot of names, but names none the less and I'm sure that is platers like Banks, Fuaga, Reid, Sanker were available teams would jump on them as well, so the statement no one wanted Saints players is false.

I've said before, the situation is bad, no need to exaggerate to make it seem worse.
