re: Lack of interest in Saints Players

Just look at the draft classes from 2020 to 2024 (5 years).
Rounds 1 to 3 where teams expect to find long term starters and contributors. 6 starters (including Ruiz & Olave, so there's that), 3 flat out busts (Foskey 2nd, Penning 1st & Turner 1st, Davenport is another but he was drafted earlier), 3 no longer with the team including the badly misused Zach Baun and finally Kendre Miller who is always hurt.
No one drafted in the later rounds other than Rattler & little used Jaylon Ford are on the current active roster. 3 are on IR, but they are not big contributors either, Landon Young, Bub Means and Saldiveri.
This, along with salary cap hell is why the team is last in the NFL this season.

If he gets credit for the current roster then he also gets credit for the Super Bowl contending seasons.
Or not, Payton held large sway over personnel when he was here. Mickey was just along for the ride.
Look at Mickey's record before and after Payton. No where near .500.

It won't be if the Board of Supervisors is picking. The chairman is a Tulane grad. He's not going to raid his alma mater for LSU.

Correct. Look at Belichick without Brady. While coaching is important, the right QB is more important.
re: Time to fire Loomis

Agree.
Without Brees, the Saints under Loomis are 20 games under .500 (58-78) and falling further behind! What GM is still employed with that record.
He basically rode Payton & Brees coattails from 2006 to 2020.

It's not about being scared. It's about making the playoffs and the chance to win a natty. Why make the schedule harder than necessary.
Alabama became a rival once Saban arrived after making LSU a great program that it still is and the game became competitive. Before that, there was no rivalry because Bama owned LSU.
Florida, I won't miss them nor their obnoxious fans.

re: So far, a 5, 6, and 8 seed have advanced to the semifinals of college football

The current playoff agreement guarantees the top 4 highest rated conference champions get the top 4 seeds and a bye. That is how Boise and ASU got byes and Ohio St and Texas did not.
re: Fire Mickey ?? Loomis He Has To Go

Loomis record as GM before Payton - 28 & 36 1 winning season 9-7 in 2002
Loomis record as GM after Payton - 21 & 28 (so far) 1 winning season 9-8 in 2023.
Basically, Mickey made 1 right decision in hiring Payton and then road his coat tails for 16 years.

It's ridiculous. LSU gets dragged through the mud by the media while Georgia gets a pass.
re: Poll: Should Joe Alleva Keep His Job?

Neither Alleva nor King call the shots for LSU athletics. Alleva is just the face of the department. LSU athletics is controlled by the TAF and it's primary boosters. Blame for this debacle needs to be placed on the people behind the scenes pulling Alleva's strings.
