Landry might make an embarrassing public debacle, but landing both these guys is huge. The future is bright

Retards will make a huge deal out of that, but that's the way it always is.

I’m fine with that since Dalton is going to help LSU with research money.

Wade Rousse states that athletics will report to him

Athletics has always reported to the president. He’s not saying individual coaches will report to him.

This is a clickbait tweet.

Dalton will help LSU get more grants and funding for LSUHSC and Pennington. He’s very established in this.

Is the government giving out research money. They cut back a ton of it to universities

It’s honestly as close to a home run as you will get in Louisiana.

Dalton is still making a significant step up.

Gets to focus on where his strengths are and will have the most impact and doesn’t have to learn a new position WHILE also dealing with a brand new state and government. Instead he gets to roll in a work on research dollars.

Rousse gets to keep LSU in good graces politically and can worry about donors private partnerships etc.

Honestly, it looks like LSU took an innovative approach to playing off both of their strengths and created specific roles tailored to each of their lines of expertise.

I'm pleasantly shocked and approve of this.

Now, let's hire one of the best ADs out there and consequently a top-tier coach.

Get a good vibe from these guys. Feels like a new era is dawning for LSU.

Doubt it. He's just another lackey for Landry.

I will give them a chance to do well even though I am more than skeptical about Landry's involvement.

Absolutely.

My worry with Dalton getting the “chancellors role” as previously leaked was that still made rousse responsible for the Med schools and Pennington etc

No disrespect to him but handling that type of research is a massive undertaking and change coming from mcneese.

On the other hand right or wrong handling Louisiana politics is a massive undertaking and change as a well in addition to numerous other campuses besides Baton Rouge. That’s a huge change in a similar if not bigger scale for Dalton as well.

With the change in roles it solves everything.

Having Rousse in his role is a sign to the state that LSU understands how this state functions and how LSU will benefit the state.

Having Dalton in his role is a sign from LSU to the rest of the nation we are serious as a university.

What would you rather?

The board give the middle finger to Landry and Landry make LSUs life hell for the rest of his term?

Or this.

I am on the fence about Rousse, but this is a good outcome for LSU. Rousse definitely has business acumen; my concern was the rest of it, from academics to research money, etc. Dalton has that in spades.
