Hopefully we'll see him at Strikeforce or Affliction.
The Tibau loss was a very very bad one for him.

Wow I was not expecting that. He was doing really well until his last 2 fights. He'll end up somewhere for sure. As you said Strikeforce or maybe Dream.
Posted on 2/9/09 at 4:02 pm to Shoulderchoke
wow, that is unexpected. He has won a lot of fights for them and stepped in when they needed someone to a time or two if I'm not mistaken over the past couple of years. Seems like a shitty thing to do, if you ask me.

I hoping that they would keep him if there is was going to be a UFC ppv in New Orleans. Rich is gone from the UFC but Melvin is in?

hopefully he will be back with them soon

what a load of fricking crap.
dude wins 4 in a row, then loses to two studs and gets cut.
yet guys like pete sell continue to get fights from the UFC and dont get cut. I know hes a big dude but hasnt he lost 3-5 in a row?

that seems to be the attitude. You would think UFC would cut some guys like Clementi some slack though, especially a guy that does the right things the way that he does.

He is likely still on Joe Silva's speed dial next time they need a fill in with only a few weeks notice.
Rich has a big enough name that he can get good fights in other organizations. He's perfect for Strikeforce as the first or second main card fight of the night.

i couldn't agree more. it's a cut-throat business w/o any loyalty. Rich is a good businessman and doesn't need the money but it's a shame because of what you just mentioned. they designate him a gatekeeper and cuts him when he loses.

it sucks, but it isnt REALLY a huge deal.
Like stated before, they really love him when he fights the guys no one wants to fight (maynard) and steps up on short notice to fight guys (Johnson, Stout.)
But I think his contract really is a problem with the UFC. This may be a ploy to maybe make him renegotiate.
Remember, it was only 1 year ago that Gleison tibau was cut after a very good fight with Tyson Griffin. It took him less than a couple months to sign a new contract

right....it doesn't mean he can never get back in the UFC. Might make him push even harder in training.

On Sherdog, there is a 78 page discussion about this. 90% say they think he's a good fighter and deserve to still be there. A shite load of love for No Love.
KBeezy, how are you gameplanning for Nover ?
Also, whats up with JC, havent seen any news on him lately ?

I mean look at the payouts. He by far made the most money, was on the undercard and lost.

I didn't think Clementi was making that much - I thought they were still paying him like 10k. But man, that was a hell of a guillotine.

None of your business
And JC just fought Tim Snyder and lost a tough 3 round decision. I fought Tim back in 2007, I think, and got one of the most brutal KOs you will ever see. Broke his orbital bone and he was unconcious bleeding from his tear ducts and nose. It was bad.
But Tim is a good striker, and hard to take down. And JC is alot smaller than myself, and doesnt have the power I have. so it was a good standup fight, but Tim won the decision.
And Rich had gotten a couple of raises through the years, and was in line to step up again had he won.
So his next fight likely would have been worth 27K to fight, and 27 k to win. He gets paid pretty well.
Belcher isnt far behind at like 18-18. But I am sure after beating Kang, that he too will get a nice raise
