Last year Texas A&M game is where Kelly lost me

So last years Aggie game was really my last sign that Kelly was not a good coach or great leader.
We were on the road at A&M and Nussmeier’s first really hostile road game, he throws a pick early third quarter and Kelly loses his shite as usual and just looked completely flustered as usual, that being said that type of behavior is contagious Kelly lost his cool and never regained it and it spread to the whole team and we got blown out. Same thing happened a number of times. I forge the exact quote but it came from an Army general talking about his first time being in a crossfire and how he had to remain calm.
Fast forward im watching Bama and Vandy and a Vandy players get personal foul on a kickoff maybe, the head coach kind of yells at him but 10 seconds later you see him calmly talking to and explaining to the kid the situation, “it was a coachable moment” you could clearly see Coach was calm and the player clearly understood he made a mistake but was ready to move on and make a play, teammates see that and how the head coach acts spreads like a fake Covid strain.

Of all the things
Meanwhile you probably are hoping against all odds this guy is our next coach

That dude would turn around and coach the defense into a pick.

There’s a difference of a 5 time national championship coach yelling and Big East Brian yelling at you.

God forbid a coach hold a kid accountable.
What did you want him to do? Hug his little neck and tell him it’s okay? That’s probably part of nuss’ problem, he’s been coddled his entire life.

When the game plan sucks and we do it make adjustments, and you have 5 pre snap penalties a game the constant as chewing about every mistake doesn’t work.
Attention to detail needs to happen Monday - Friday at practice so those mental mistakes don’t happen in a game.
Literally every week we have numerous presnap penalties and a special teams blunder

Yeah, like Saban didn't lose his shite on the sidelines over and over.

In the game you are talking about we were 6-1 and well in command in the 3rd quarter.
The ONLY thing that could change it seemingly was an ill advised turnover….. what did nuss do? Throw and absolutely AWFUL pick on our side of the field on the first drive.

It wasn't really Nussmeier's first hostile game. The crowd and situation at South Carolina earlier that year was just as hostile. As for Kelly losing his shite, I don't blame him. You're up 17-7 (and it should have been much more if LSU had a competent OC). You're leading midway through the 3Q. Your defense has played well to that point. Then, deep in your own territory, your 4th year QB then throws an unnecessary interception because he tried to force a play that wasn't there...something he has done his ENTIRE career.
That was literally the turning point of the game. A&M runs the next play in for a TD and never looked back.
EDT: Even in the SC game earlier that year Nussmeier throws and awful INT nearly the goal line that should have been the game winner for SC but for a dumb penalty on their part. If I'm a coach, I'm a bit tired my QB continues to make backbreaking mistakes.

that was the game that did it for you? For me it was year 1 when we were 9-2, guaranteed to win the SEC West and be in the SEC Championship game. Very unlikely that we would beat UGA. But, an outside chance of making the playoffs if we could somehow get that done.
We go play a 4-7 Texas A&M team and look completely outclassed. Achane runs for 215 yards on us. I knew then that Kelly had no idea how to get a team ready to play week to week in the SEC.

Difference is that Saban had those players prepared very well, so the "nice things" had already been said.
Coaching prowess matters when it comes to getting chewed out by your coach. If he clearly sucks as a coach, you are likely to LOSE respect for what he is saying in that kind of interaction, and thus the feeling spreads team-wide.
If Saban is tearing your arse up verbally, there's ZERO doubt that you've done something wrong.

We were up 17-7 in the 3rd quarter. Sounds like we were prepared.

And you heard the wrong sound. Kelly by his own admission said he had not prepared for Marcel Reed entering the game.
That game was was the beginning of the end of the Kelly regime

yep
this and the defensive abomination he put on the field the next year - particularly the Ole Miss game - had me all the way out.

And Saban lit into players for not doing the little things that they were coached to do. And it didn't matter if it was the first drive of the game, or if they were up by 40. He was consistent.
BK whined.

I can't wait until I don't have to watch this whiny pussy blow game after game again. Sick of this shite. Dude is trash and is regressing. Time to move on.

Same here, but not for the reasons you listed.
The egregious part of that game was LSU CLEARLY not being ready for Marcel Reed when he came into the game. Like they didn't even set up a game plan for what to do if Wegman left the game.

I swear you guys forget fast how Saban never relented when chewing out a player. Stop saying BK gets mad without realizing most every coach does that. It's not being realistic.
