Todd Snider canceled his 2025 tour dates after being injured in an alleged attack before a concert in Salt Lake City. The singer-songwriter was on tour supporting his just-released album, High, Lonesome And Then Some.
Snider started the the High, Lonesome And Then Some 2025 tour on Thursday, October 30 in Denver and had an off day on Friday, October 31. He was set to play a show on Saturday, November 1 at the Commonwealth Room in Salt Lake City. The venue announced the concert’s postponement on social media only hours before Snider was scheduled to go on.
“Due to injuries sustained in an incident last night, Todd Snider will be unable to perform at the Commonwealth Room tonight (Nov. 1) in SLC,” the Commonwealth Room posted. “We deeply apologize for the postponement and appreciate everyone’s understanding as he gets treated. More information on a new date will be available soon.”
Snider followed by canceling the remainder of his High, Lonesome And Then Some 2025 Tour dates in a statement shared by his record label Aimless that said Snider was the “victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel.”

Well that sucks. Why would someone attack him ? He is one of the most laid back performers I've ever seen.
I saw him in Birmingham a few months ago and it was a fantastic show. This was his 1st tour in a couple of years due to his back issues, and now someone does some shite like this.
Really hope this doesn't discourage him from playing live again.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Singer and songwriter Todd Snider was arrested while visiting Utah for his "High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour."
He said he was "the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel."
Snider, 59, was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass, a class B misdemeanor; threat of violence, a class B misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, an infraction.
Snider was discharged from Holy Cross Hospital on Sunday, but said he did not believe he should have been discharged.
He started yelling and cursing at the staff, the affidavit states.
A medical professional reportedly told Snider to leave the property "and not return."
Snider left, but soon returned and threatened to kick a staff member's ***, the affidavit states.
Snider was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail.

Saw that today. He posted something strange a few weeks ago about this tour and it sounded like he was unsure about the tour. Lemme see if I can find it.

He said in a recent article that he was in alot of pain and would use whatever pills necessary to perform. I wanted to see this for the potential trainwreck. Looks like he flamed out early.

Found this from last year:
Very next question:
The guy's always been kind of a crapshot for live shows and what kind of condition he would show up in. I'll take the "violet assault" claim with a grain of salt.
quote:
Todd: I plan on being at the camp, and at You Got Gold. I just started a three-month thing with a new chiropractor who claims that in three months I will be fixed, but I don’t know. It’s not just my back either — it’s my neck and shoulder, too. But like, if this goes on and on with no hope, I’ll book a show, load up on pain pills and do it. shite, eventually I will have to.
Very next question:
quote:
Todd: Oh, yeah. I do. It’s adorable actually. Every year when they’d have that Americana convention, he’d call about a week before and ask if I could score him three eight balls of blow, which I was more than happy to do for him. Then that first night he’d get in town, my house would turn into a place parents lay awake at night wondering how to keep their children from ending up there. Except not as commercial. Cuz we were Americana.
Steven Thames: What’s your preferred way to ingest cannabis — joints, bowls, gummies? You a sativa guy? What’s the last song that made you cry?
Todd: I have a pipe somebody made me that I’ve kept for a while now. It’s got the First Agnostic Church logo on it.

I like Todd, but he is a certifiable drug addled nut bag.

His early stuff from the 1990's and early 2000's is great. Especially when his backup band was The Nervous Wrecks. Will Kimbrough is a great guitarist.

He got arrested at the hospital for not wanting to leave, lol.
Sounds like he wanted more junk and they wouldnt give it to him.

To this day, this video is probably my favorite live performance of all time by anyone. The whole 26 minute performance on Austin City Limits is incredible.
Wish we still had that version of Todd:
This one is great as well:

Just to offer an alternate explanation, a concussion can make a person combative.
But it was probably drugs.

I've seen Todd since he was doing Plastic Girl at JR's Lightbulb Club. Saw Hard Working Americans a couple times. I'm glad he got the album done. Hope he gets straight.

Youtube Music knows I opened this thread, as it played Tillamook County Jail while I was driving around at lunch.
