Missed jury duty today

I have been sick this weekend and forgot I was scheduled for jury duty at the 19th JDC.
I remembered this evening and sent an email apologizing and asking for a reschedule.

New state law was passed, mandatory 100 hrs community service.

I know how they handle it in Jefferson Parish.
They fine you a nominal amount ($100 or so) and they will waive the fine if you agree to be called again in the near future.

To the people who are saying that they would pay $100 to get out of jury duty, it is not that simple. It works the first time but if you keep not showing up, you will be hauled before the judge on a contempt of court charge.
