Something to consider about Saban and AD hire

I think Saban is very far-fetched, but let's give the benefit of the doubt and assume that there's a plan.
It actually would make a lot of sense to wait and hire an AD until, and if, you were to pull Saban. Would instantly make it a much more attractive job for candidates across the country. Saban would also probably want input into the AD hire.
Also think there's the possibility they're giving Verge the opportunity to prove himself in the big chair before rushing out to hire another candidate.

I trust Saban’s hiring decisions more than whoever chose the last president and AD. Let him do the whole thing.

Saban recommended Houston Nutt for the LSU job when he left, lol. I do think they had the same agent though. At that time he really had no skin in the game at least in regards to LSU.
