Is there a more irrelevant position anymore than MLB manager? With the DH, modern 3 outcome strategy, and analytics what purpose does he serve? Hell, even the handling of pitching staffs is now so formulaic it's maddening - and boring. Besides, with the make up of current rosters half the team can't understand him, anyway. If there was ever a position in modern sports screaming to be taken over by AI it's MLB manager. You could honestly hire WW's wife and I bet you wouldn't see a +/- 2 game difference in the record.
