My very reputable source faltered last time when we ended up with Kelly

I had every reason to believe my source at that time. Lincoln Riley was a done deal. This guy was very legit and had no reason not to believe him. I ran here to tell everyone, being a hero with inside scoop.
Then a few days later that narrative completely fell apart and I looked like a massive jackass.
I say this to warn everyone here of people who claim to have sources. Sure, the guy posting it could believe it with all his heart but until LSU announces it, it’s only rumor. I learned this the hard way.

I remember learning from a guy directly working on the deal that Jimbo was set to be signed, sealed and delivered before Jindal and the soccer moms on Facebook saved Les. I still hear stuff nowadays, but I don't share much anymore.

I believe this 100%.
I really believe there is intentional leaks spread throughout. Everyone thinks they know a reliable source but they really don’t know shite.
Literally no one predicted the Kelly hire but everyone thought it was Riley.

Pretty sure it was gonna be Riley, then USC offered more so we had to pass and get BK! No way BK was our first option.

Whatever else people want to say about Scott Woodward, he clamped down the athletic department leak machine like no one else has before. Maybe Verge has learned something from that.
As much as I want some juicy, accurate tidbits, I like having a professional athletic department that can keep its cards close to the vest.

So you're on record now saying it isn't Kiffin, Dillingham, Heupel, Freeman, or Saban. And it's a coach whose current team would apparently be very shocked and upset to know they lost him. Which to me indicates a P4 school. Hmmm.
