he’s retiring at the end of the year some of this could just be not wanting to take on risk before he turns it over. Likely the company will be viewed as less valuable without him, regardless

What does Warren know? People have been asking that for years. Sold a bunch of their Apple shares a while back I believe.

He sold it because AAPL had become too large of a position in his portfolio.
It became such a large percentage of his portfolio because he made a killing on AAPL.
Apparently you people don't understand portfolio/risk management.

He knows that when he goes folks will sell shares. Then BRK can buy it back cheaply and they'll have lots of cash on hand. They'll also be able to be "greedy when there's blood in the streets". I think that was one of his quotes.

any chance they need the cash to buy back whatever Buffet has? My company always has this issue when people sitting on a lot of company stock/assets retires.

I would think his exit is already priced in.

Probably gotta buy back all of his extra vacation time when he retires
For real, I think new CEO will want to make his mark by making a huge acquisition to start his tenure. Stockpiling cash to buy a big one once he takes over and gets a decent deal on it.

It seems like the “what does Warren know” tweet has been repeated for many years.
Let’s stop acting like it’s insightful.
