Kiffin’s Ego

Is way too big for Oxford, MS and a stadium that holds 64,000. He needs the biggest stage there is. To think he is all of a sudden this completely reformed, humble family guy is a little hard to buy. Do I think he has made significant life changes for the better with more appreciation for certain things? Sure. Do I think that he still doesn’t want the most attention possible? No way. He can’t stand not being in the spotlight and he will not be satisfied with being the head coach at a school with the national exposure/perception of Ole Miss. That will be the reason that he moves on to a bigger stage…and which stage do you think he feels is bigger…LSU on a Saturday night or The Swamp. Currently, it is Tiger Stadium…and I think he knows it.

Oh he's leaving but not for BR

Exactly......I promise you he didn't go from the Southern Cals, TN, Raiders and Bama's of the world....just to go backwards. I'm sure his plan along has been FAU>OM and then hang it up. lol. Everyone says he can have low expectations there and never have to worry about getting fired. I honestly think that is not what motivates him long term. He has changed sure, but that same ambitious Lane is still there. It didn't just go away. If he is happy with complacency and a low ceiling at OM, then yes he should just stay there. I don't want a coach who doesn't want to take on this challenge and just sit happy as a lark in their little velvet ditch in Oxford. We need someone ready to take on the expectations here...and if he doesn't, then he is not our coach.

The problem with LSU fans is the HC of it's football team has to be a character cast from Peyton Place, otherwise he's boring, perceived as disinterested, and not a rock star. Why can't we have a guy without a mega ego that just does his job and just wins.

It won’t be kiffin or Saban. Kiffin is on social media confirming Marty smith’s report about him wanting to stay in Oxford. LSU fans gotta be more realistic in this coaching search. The landscape has changed

Our stadium has 64,000 or less in it in the second half of most games

He’s going to announce the extension after State.

Why wait until after that game....wouldn't it be best to tell the team now??

I think he is leaving. But not til 2027. LSU and Florida are a huge step up, but every year something pops open that’s a huge step up. Since his ego was mentioned, I think his ego would drive him either to the NFL or a team that plays USC regularly. That would be ego talking. How much would he love to beat the Raiders or the Trojans year in and year out? Sensical? Nope. Does it fit Kiffin? Yep.

I think he may be intrigued by the Dolphins myself. Gets to stay in Fl and try again on the biggest stage.
