I’m not liking what I’m seeing as far as Braintrust here!! Who’s doing the decision making here? Carmouche Ballard Bordelon and some other guy along with Ausberry?? Are any of these men football coaches? What real knowledge do they have about the Xs and Os of the game? Can anyone of these guys get on a chalkboard and describe in detail the intricacies of Cover 2 or Tampa Defense Etc, or is their knowledge limited to having a fckin beer in their hand Talkin good ole boy BS and sitting in the club section. This looks Effed up to me Thoughts.

I love this place. My cousin T-Wayne can break down a cover 2, but he has to blow into a breathalyzer to start his car.

Thats who we need running the search.

the people that hire coaches never know a ton about the sport. its a normal situation for the most part its just how we got there thats strange

How much actual football knowledge do you really think separates all these coaches?? What percentage of active college coaches know what a cover 2 is? 100% of them. The committee is there to parse out leadership skills, organizational skills, people skills, program fit, managerial skills.

People wanted players to be openly paid, this is a downside of it.. when you’re begging people to pay and buy your players and coaches.. they get a big say on how their money is spent. They ultimately have to like the guy they are about to write a check for

By far the smartest thing that's going to be said in this thread. Or probably any thread started by the OP.

Verge and Bordelon both played for LSU.. Verge has worked for LSU athletics for 30+ years... you think they dont know ball?

Also Bordelon is probably stroking one of the checks to get this done... how ab you sit down and shut up, ole man

The prospective coach must needs undergo extensive psychological testing. That must be first.

I think that other person is probably saban, it would be the most realistic position to help. Seems like it someone everyone knows and they don’t want any to know

In my career I have hired all kinds of skills, trades, executives, professionals, I could not personally do some of their jobs but had a clear understanding of what seat on the bus would be theirs.
As a final decision maker ..the applicant has to check the boxes, work well with others, have leadership skills. Be a good teacher, buy into company mission and maybe most importantly have a good work ethic.

It seems that Brian Kelly was few if any of those. Right?
