LSU has had one 10 win regular season since 2012

Ohio State’s relevant pretty much every single year. LSU rarely is the last decade and a half.
I think LSU’s “prestige” is a little overrated on this board. We are not Ohio State. And Kiffin? In 3 years he’ll have more 10 win regular seasons than LSU has in the last 13. What’s he gonna come to LSU for? To get 11 wins? He’s peaked? He’s gonna make the playoffs and probably win at least a game. That’s not a low “peak”
It’s also clearly not that easy to win here. And our “anyone can win a championship, our last 3 coaches did” narrative just died.
With the money we spend on NIL, coaches and the portal, why can’t we be relevant more than one season in the last 13 years? BK was a dud, but was still the winningest active coach in football.
We are not as special as we think we are.

We beat them in the National Championship game in 2008 for the 2007 season.

We have the same number of national championships as them since 2002 despite always playing a much more difficult schedule than them. Only Bama has more championships in that time frame.

Yep. The Cajuns had multiple 10 win seasons under Billy. How’d that work out for him when he had to play the SEC grind? I’ll never respect teams that brag about ten win seasons when before the year, 7-8 of the 12 games on their schedule aren’t within 14 pts on the spread.

Ole Miss will never win a National Championship with Lane Kiffin. Lane is a good coach, but he has maxed out at Ole Miss. He’s done as much as he can. When was the last SEC championship they’ve won? Ed Orgeron could barely win games at Ole Miss and had a perfect season at LSU and beat more ranked teams than any other college team in history.

Ohio State basically only had 1 of either Wisconsin, Michigan, or Penn St. to worry about most of those years. Unless I’m misremembering there weren’t very many years between then and now where all three were a big hurdle.

Putting Ole Miss on a pedestal, lol. I’d like to see the Ole Miss trophy case. Lane Kiffin is why Ole Miss is relevant at all. The Ole Miss championship is winning 10 games in a season. The LSU championships are National Championships.
