Deer Hunting Rifle Recommendations Needed

I’d like to purchase a rifle and I’m looking for recommendations for the complete arrangement - rifle, scope, and maybe suppressor. I have a $3000-$3500 budget for it, but I don’t need to use all the funds. 100% deer hunting use. Longest shot where I hunt is no more than 200 yards. Thanks!

200yd and your budget its pretty much whatever you want!! If you want to spend all your budget here it what I would do even though its over the top!!

You don't need to spend anywhere near that much money to kill deer.
$800 gun and $500 scope is more than adequate.
Any modern caliber from .243 up will kill deer at 200 yds

One of the 30-06 or derivatives of, .270, .280, 30-06. Decent Leupold or other scope along with good rings and bases.
For the gun can't go wrong with Titka, Ruger, Howa, Weatherby, Browning, or several others. I would stay away from a couple brands (Remington or Mossberg).

I had sort of a bonus situation and just figured I’d go all out. If you have recommendation, like maybe your favorite, at that price point I’d certainly take it.

This will be all you need for a great hunting setup. Light and short. Enough to reach out to 400-500 if you need. Just get some good rings like Talleys and you will be good to go.

Understood. That price point puts you in a very good spot. I had a savage axis in 243 for my daughter in pink camo that was a sure enough moa gun for 200$.
Do you ever think you will go out west? Maybe dial and shoot to 500+ yards?
You ever want to camp out and pack up a mountain in the rain? Or just hunt a box stand? That will help narrow it down for a recommendation and we can help you spend allllllll that money

Agreed maybee!! If I was only hunting a box stand would maybe want a tikka wood or Winchester featherweight with a trijicon or night force with capped turrets.
A mountain rifle or long range rifle would be different.

OP I’d look for a 16 inch to 18 inch .308 if you’re putting a can on it. I had a few custom rifles built and went 24 inch barrels and never use them anymore.

You’re about to get a shitload of Tikka recs
My setup, new for this season, is a Savage Axis 2 Pro in 6.5 CM with a Burris Signature HD 3-15x44 and an Omega 300 DTM. All in that’s $1700, including the $200 tax stamp. It’s already stacked up a pile of does.

It's been a while but I paid around $800 for Browning xbolt medallion in .280 Remington and put a Leupold Vx3 3.5x10 scope on it that I got a deal on. .270 and up is also adequate for elk as well.
You are going to need other gear as well, binos, range finders, clothes etc so save some money for that.
My first deer gun was a savage classic 14 in 7mm-08 with a Nikon Scope. Frankly the factory trigger was better on the Savage. That was less than $800 for everything.
Lots of accurate inexpensive guns these days, savage, Ruger, tikka, howa

A lot of people think hunting out of a box stand they want to tote a 26” barrel 12lb cannon, but the first time you carry a shorter lighter setup it’s an eye opener. If you already know you’re going to mount a can, go short, like 18” short, in 308, 7mm08, or 6.5CM. That’s the one place tikka doesn’t really have anything for you, so look at Bergara or Browning.
