Yes, their situation sucks but you mean to tell me that these air traffic controllers live paycheck to paycheck and are freaking out that they won’t be able to put food on the table if they don’t get paid this week?

If that’s the case then perhaps they should be getting paid a lot more money than what they are currently getting paid. A position like that should not be living paycheck to paycheck

Man imagine these folks if SNAP runs out and Spirit airlines at the same time.

We’re really going to have a mess on our hands!

Well as a relative of a ATC I can tell you he makes good money lives modestly his wife is a stay at home mom they have 4 young children. He can survive but why should he be forced to work while not getting paid. The reps in the house and senators are not working but somehow they always get paid.

all kinds of people at all kinds of income levels live paycheck to paycheck for all kinds of reasons - alimony, child support, an expensive medical condition, etc. don't be dense

I am an air traffic controller and this accurately describes me. Sometimes, in bad months, I'll run out of cocaine two or three days before my next payday.

SNAP not being distributed will affect the majority Americans… rather you receive SNAP or not.. the trickle down effect is stores needing less workers, restaurants having less customers, truck drivers working less hours, etc.

It’s a cause and effect that America will feel not just SNAP recipients … this actually pulls money out of the American economy

Or people could live within their means.

This includes the government and their spending.

I've wondered if/when the airlines pool together and donate money to pay them... They say that bookings are starting to struggle bc of the shutdown and there are only about 13k ATCs.
