While Taylor Sheridan is known for his vast empire of television shows for Paramount+, his output on the film side has been as arid as a Texas drought.

That is about to change.

Despite the recent headlines of Sheridan decamping the new David Ellison-owned studio for NBCUniversal, the cowboy isn’t done with Paramount just yet. And he is actually in the process of landing one of the highest-profile gigs of this career.

Sheridan is in talks to write the adaptation of Call of Duty, one of the biggest video games of all time.

The dealmaking comes as Peter Berg, the man’s man director behind such movies as Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon and Friday Night Lights, is closing his deal to direct and also write the adaptation.

I know, I know, Taylor Sheridan has been dominating and all. But games to movie adaptations are a tricky business.

Curious if they'll do the "No Russian" scene and do it how the player was supposed to play that mission instead of how everyone did it

Prodigal son will fall for foreign girl of the opposing side and be the hero. Mother or sister will be a dragon lady, father will be fighting against the times.

No Russian pissed me off because it seemed like Killing Marakov would have made more sense. Instead your killed and russia and the US go to war.

Wonder which version they'll adapt, Modern Warfare series seems the most likely, just hope it's not an original story because then what's the point of calling COD

Wasn't that the point though?

You were trying to infiltrate the terrorist org and he knew you were a CIA agent so he could frame the U.S. for the attack

No Russian likely wouldn't make the movie. But the nuking of DC and the helicopters falling out the sky would be cool in a movie. Though the astronaut getting blown up didn't make sense to me. No way the shockwave goes that far.

Correct.

Also, you didn't actually have to kill anyone in that mission. Just fire over everyone's heads and you pass the mission.

How did everyone play it though?

MW2 from 2009(maybe 2010, not sure) would be a good movie or series.

If Sheridan is writing, they won't have a third act and it'll just abruptly end with no closure to the storylines whatsoever.
