A&M Football, LSU Basketball (stabbed Wade in the back and followed it up with an awful program killing hire) and LSU Football. His coaching hires are responsible for the two largest buyouts in CFB history. The guy is just not capable of hiring a big time, successful coach when it comes to the two biggest college sports. And he screws you with insane contracts. He has no business having any input in the next head coaching hire.

Don't post unless you know what you are talking about.
Woodward has skins on the wall and has made some really great hires at 3 separate universities and as soon as he's let go at LSU, he will be on the shortlist of AD candidates for the next prominent spot that opens up.
His bad contract was Kelly and he did what was needed to get him to say yes. Hindsight, it wasn't good, but LSU had gone 5-5 and 6-7 and was spiraling and Woodward went and got the second winningest active coach in the country to turn this thing around.
The Jimbo buyout is from Bjork's extension, not Woodward's contract. This has been plastered everywhere.
Homerun hires by Woodward:
- Sark at Washington
- Petersen at Washington
- Buzz Williams at aTm
- Mulkey at LSU
- Johnson at LSU
Not to mention his ability to generate money and forward think the budgetary items. Woodward is a top tier AD and has been for awhile. It's stupid to let him go because Kelly didn't work out. LSU will come out on the short end of the stick on this one.

No he didn’t. Don’t be dramatic.
He made some bold hires and they didn’t workout, but as for LSU at least, the status of the LSU athletic department is very good.
Understand the responsibilities go far beyond just hiring coaches for an athletic director.

LSU is a top 5 job in the country. They still have a lot of talent, and this won’t be a rebuild. All that needs to happen, is the right hire, and LSU is back in National contention next season, or 2 years from now.

The only reason Woodward is responsible for the A&M buyout is because we were looking for a coach and they thought we were coming after him, Ross Bjork is the one who extended his contract and fired him!!!!!
