Why is Governor Landry involved in LSU business

I understand he is the Governor. Seems to me he should be worrying about other things. Our state is near last in education. The roadways are horrible. We have a struggling economy. Our insurance premiums are out of control. We need TORT Reform terribly in this state, but he being an attorney will never allow that to happen.

This is more fun than all that

I guess so. I do understand we do not have a President at the moment and he felt the need to step in.
I guess I'm just not a fan of a lot of what's wrong with Louisiana especially the state being known as a Sue Happy state with attorneys having huge billboards everywhere advertising to call them so they can sue for some money for you. Which ultimately causes our insurance premiums to be out of control.

Because this is an opening for the highest paid state employee and arguably one of the most important jobs in the state.

Not saying I’m for it but the financial implications to the state are huge. LSU football is a major “issue” when it comes to our economy and our state brand as a whole. It is important enough to warrant his involvement…. Whether we want/need it

Not going to make insurance premiums go down. It’s going to increase insurance profits and they will pocket the money. Cmon baw.

Fair enough. I dont really like him being involved, but will respect it.

I'm not a complete fan of Landry's intervention, but you have to realize that LSU football is a huge economic engine for the state and city. He also is smart enough to realize that Scott Woodward has botched three very important hires, two of them were at LSU and doesn't want to see the process repeated.

Yeah you are probably correct. This state is horrible with all of the law suits.

This is the bottom line. Will he use it for PR? Absolutely but this is the reason

Yeah I agree. I guess I didnt think it thru before I posted my concern. I may not like it.

Because LSU does not have a president at the moment.

LSU does not have a Prescription currently.
The BOS is running things, and BOS is appt by Landry.
Landry is involved but far from running things.

since LSU doesn't have a president he has to be involved

Insurance rates are actually coming down this year

Without Landry’s assistance, BK may still be coach. For all the bad shite he has done, I will give him credit on this

Governor involvement makes some sense and is a necessary evil bc of what LSU represents. But the fact that there is a moron in that seat right now worries me greatly.
