Dan Lanning (Oregon): Seen as a prototypical coach for the modern era, with a combination of recruiting prowess and motivational skills

Yeah of course.

If you can get him, go get him. I think it's a very tough ask. Also, his buyout at Oregon is $56M.

I'm all for it. I doubt it happens.

EDIT - I was not aware his buyout was $20M if he leaves.

The question isn’t if we like Lanning, it just doesn’t seem feasible.

He has a great job, makes good money, and has an endless supply of NIL cash because Knight will not go to his grave before buying a championship. Why would he leave ?

LSU isn't hiring a defensive coach after what the offense has shown this year

Bet you said the same things about why we wouldn’t fire Kelly.

No, on Saturday night I said that BK was done Sunday or Monday.

I don't doubt it happens because of the money. I doubt it happens because Lanning is in a pretty good spot.

Definitely could be wrong. I'm wrong a lot.

Lanning would be my number 1.

I just don’t think it’s feasible even if he wanted to leave Oregon.

If he leaves, buyout is $20m

If fired, buyout is $45m

That’s if he is fired. His buyout for if he leaves is only $20 million.

Is it recruiting prowess or is it Nike money in the NIL era? That is the big question mark with Lanning.

His buyout is $20 million plus he has deferred Nike stock worth more than that that he would lose. Can we please stop acting like Lanning is leaving Oregon.

Aside from the Nike stuff, I like how we are acting like, oh its ONLY $20 million...someone in this thread said its only $20 million

for example, Kiffin's buyout is $3 million after this season I believe
