I Would be Fine With Frank

I know him a little bit and have been extremely impressed with him since he was coaching high school football in New Orleans in the 1990s. I
The last time we swung and missed with the big names ( most of whom have since disappeared) we hired the caretaker who put together the best team in the history of college football and won a national championship for us before things went sour.
Frank Wilson is much loved in Louisiana and New Orleans in particular which should be our main recruiting base.
Kiffin?
That would be fine if it works out.
Summerol?
I like him but the SEC is miles above that conference Tulane plays in. Remember SunBelt Billy
The rest of the names on the list???????
I hope Woodward stays because although Kelly didn’t work out I am not uncomfortable with letting him hire a coach.
Beat Bama and get the momentum rolling for Frank.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but i just cant justify making a move like you just did to hire the interim

Frank Wilson is a great man and perfect for the interim role but he should not be considered for the full time position. His HC record is arse.

You don’t want Sumrall but you’re ok with a coach that failed at UTSA and McNeese?

The fact that you say this in a post where you are advocating for Frank Wilson...

lol i knew after the press conference the Rant would be filled with these threads. hes always been a great speaker and has that skill to relate to players. Thats why he's a great recruiter.

Honestly it would be better to lose a couple of the next few games and NOT have this result. Play respectable football the rest of year, hire a legit coach, let Frank keep crootin and coaching RBs and let’s move forward.

This line of thinking is how we got Orgeron.
Yes we got a natty...and we got the bus driven directly off the cliff.
I love Frank being a part of this program. He's been a great ambassador for LSU and brought tons of great players here. Lots of players look up to him. He's built a legacy here. I appreciate the hell out of it, but Frank isn't LSU HC material.

He is an asset to the program for how much he’s revered in this state but he isn’t the guy to lead LSU as HC. His record at UTSA and McNeese is not good, I don’t think he would all of a sudden translate in the SEC.

We all love Frank and agree he has a place on the staff but not as the fricking head coach

Yes pay millions to fire a coach who hasn't had a losing season here to hire one who is a career loser.

Let's not start this please. Nothing against Frank Wilson. Hes been great to us. He is louisiana high school football royalty. I hope we can keep him on board as an administrator or high school/past player relations type of position. I hate that I even have to say this but LSU is one of the top jobs in all of college football, even the media is saying this. We should be able to get just about anyone we want if we are fair.

After his first press conference?
Look, I think him getting this shot is fair and probably the best option right now. However, I think we want to win. If we don’t, he isn’t the guy. And how we might win or lose could have some bearing on a permanent look. But the competition has to be opened up. The program deserves that.

Yep. Kelly never stood a chance at LSU.
