I've been on the Lane train, but Jake is probably right that we need a guy that brings the nastiness back to LSU football. We've gotten soft.

LINK

He really likes Brent Key at GA Tech. His resume'.
2001–2002 Georgia Tech (GA)
2004 Western Carolina (RB/TE)
2005 UCF (GA)
2006–2007 UCF (TE/RC)
2008 UCF (ST/TE/RC)
2009–2011 UCF (OL/RC)
2012–2013 UCF (AHC/OL/RC)
2014–2015 UCF (AHC/OC/OL/RC)
2016–2018 Alabama (OL)
2019–2022 Georgia Tech (AHC/OL/RGC)
2022 Georgia Tech (interim HC)
2023–present Georgia Tech

OC experience and 3 years as Bama OL coach. I like it.

Lack of physicality is what stands out to me on both sides of the ball under Kelly.

We need a guy who fixes that no doubt.

I think Key was the Meathead coach of the year if I remember correctly

Hester & them love him

Key & Sumrall demand the physicality needed at LSU. Not saying they are best candidates, but soft LSU is gone day 1 with either.

I have a list of a few guys I would like or wouldn't mind being the next coach. Key is probably at the top of my realistic list.

If we are stuck with Brad Davis, Key would come in and fix our OL issues. GA Tech averages 230 ygp rushing. OC, recruiting and OL experience. SEC experience.

You could get him for a more reasonable contract than Lane.

Key is my number 2 behind Lanning, who I believe is probably unattainable.

He coached for Saban.

His team plays with grit.

Players coach.

He’s not the sexy hire, but neither were Saban or Miles.

Im tired of the mentions of Brent Key. I want a guy who has had a good passing QB in his history. Brent Key's history reads like Mario Cristobal.

And of course Hester like him. OL and running the football. Great, but don't want Les Miles.

Honestly, watching our OL AND DL getting pushed around offends my sensibilities. I miss the days when LSU played big boy football. I want an explosive offense, but also a team that can impose its will. I know I ask for too much.

‘Bayou Cowboy’; resume shows he doesn’t stay in one place long, potential problem! Buyer beware.

10 years - UCF
3 Years - Bama
6 years - GA Tech

That's pretty reasonable

Don’t really care what Hester says. I’m surprised he didn’t say we needed to hire Les miles back. We’re not going back to 1970’s ground and oound

Hester was adamant that we not fire Les Miles, his coach. I’m not opposed to his suggestion, but I think Key’s name is already in the hat and most LSU fans know what we need in a coach and would be ok with his hire or someone similar.

Under Keys, Haynes king turned from one of the worst passers Ive seen to a really good playmaker.

Not sold on him as long term HC though

What an odd take his qb is fricking Haynes king, whose Not a dropback passer, you adapt to who your qb is. Their backup qb Aaron philo can sling it when he plays they open up the offense and throw the ball around more, we jus had Joe Sloan who was too overly pass happy and forgot the run game give me a guy who makes establishing the run a priority again

Games are still won at the LOS. No matter how much a freak athlete guys like Lenoris Sellers are they can't do shite if you can't win the trenches. I like Kyle Williams, but our DL is getting abused too against better offenses. How many sacks has our DL produced?

Ohio St won last year because they were the best team at the LOS, not because they had a high powered offense. The last 4 NC teams Ohio St, Michigan, and GA X2 won because they were the best OL and DLs in CFB.
