This is so refreshing to hear when the national narrative is it’s LSU so we have to hire some idiot dancing monkey with a name ending in eaux. Because it’s our “culture”. Just give us someone that works hard as hell and wins. He mentions Jay Johnson had 0 Louisiana connections before arriving and looking how great he has been.

The national media just attaches “cultural fit” to us because they still think of Louisiana as a backwater swamp that’s beneath the rest of the country.

Matt Flynn also had a great comment this morning on OTB about what is a good fit at LSU.
He said someone who is genuine, authentic, and true to themselves. Someone that understands that when you accept a job paying you $10 million a year it means that job is your life. The cultural fit narrative started with Miles eating grass, then Orgeron being a shrimp boat captain. The miles thing was overdone and a media narrative. The best coach LSU has ever had, didn’t know or care about any of that nonsense.

The “fit” comment isn’t always just about having an accent. It’s about the personality and not being fake. Many people in the national media think Lane Kiffin would be a perfect fit for LSU. He’s not from the south at all.
They didn’t say BK doesn’t “fit” because he doesn’t have an accent. They say he doesn’t “fit” because he fake an accent.
