I think same spot honestly.

Lincoln was soft and scared of the SEC.

He can't get over the hump in an easier conference? It would be the same if not worse than BK.

Not much different, if USC cared as much as LSU Lincoln would be on the hotseat or fired already.

Riley had no chest. Ran to the west coast and still can't get things right. SEC would've eaten him alive.

You do realize, Kelly has the same agent as Lincoln. Lincoln was always going to USC but used to drive up both his and Kelly's contract. That's how it works.

Tell me who the OC would have been. Tell me who the DC would have been. Tell me who the OL coach would have been. IMO, people put way too much on the HC. Kelly does not call plays...he does not call defenses...he does not coach the OL. Kelly's responsibilities or any head coach who is not also a coordinator is simply to hire the right coordinators and approve the coordinators hiring of position coaches. He also makes the important decisions about when to go for it, punt, try FGs. That is IT...that is 100%. Apparently, coordinators even make decisions about timeouts now as I've seen that happen for several teams and the head coaches get on their case many times. Kelly did NOT run the game nor should he. BUT, if the team plays badly, that is on him.

Plenty of head coaches do have those responsibilities or have a hand in it. Part of Kellys problem was he was too hands off.

I disagree that Kelly was too hands off. BUT, for Kelly to be "hands off", you must have a competent OC. Sloan is not that guy. Brady was for Orgeron. You honestly think Orgeron stuck his nose into Brady's business when LSU was winning a NC and Burrow the Heisman. That is NOT the HC's job to be "hands on". It is the head coach's job to hire a good OC so that he doesn't have to be hands on. As far as other coaches being the HC and a coordinator, nothing wrong with that. But it is not a requirement to be a superb head coach. Nick Saban wasn't a coordinator at Alabama. He had guys like Kiffin and Smart, etc working for him.
