Terrible news. He was a good dude. Put hockey on the map in BR. He was tougher than a $3 steak but nice as can be off the ice.

Fan favorite in Baton Rouge. Kingfish fans loved that guy.

He was my favorite king fish player by far... not suprised to learn that he was actually a good dude considering his reputation on the ice for being an enforcer. Not only would he throw down at the drop of a hat for teammate, He would almost always hand out sticks and pucks after games and stay for an autograph.
I'm sure there are bunch of Happy Gilmore esq types out there, driving crappy cars, playing for gas money just trying to keep the dream alive. But Cam was the first one I've seen first hand doing just that. He was always my OG Happy Gilmore. I saw the shitty car he got into after the games and I couldn't believe people would rather be living like that chasing the dream rather than hanging it up and getting a real job.

New Orleans Brass fan here, I am so sorry to hear this.
I remember his name, but couldn't pick him out of a line up. Sounds like one of the good ones. In hockey, oftentimes, the "worst" guy on the ice is the kindest guy off of it.

We couldnt tell you what truly was offsides but we surely yelled it. Cam made it fun because really all we wanted to do was go to a fight and hope a hockey match broke out
