From four years ago:
- Mediocre to terrible at offensive game planning and game management. Head-scratching playcalling. Often has no Plan B, much less Plan C, when Plan A isn't working on offense.
- Will often leave more talented and even game-breaking players on the bench in favor of lesser-talented - and in some cases, far less talented - players he considers more fundamentally sound.
- Plays not to lose instead of playing aggressively to win.
- Often struggles to beat teams that have far less talent and gets blown out in big games. Very poor record against Top 10 teams.
General comments:
- You will find BK is not a nice guy. You can justify it by saying nice guys finish last, and he's there not to make friends and his job is to win. And I would agree with that. Just telling you what you're getting.
- In summary, you will be happy with your new coach for a while. But unless he makes some fundamental changes to how he goes about things, you are likely in for what we experienced: Playing down to the competition and not being competitive against the Alabamas and Georgias, or any other team that is legit. But as I said, there's a balance. He's a proven winner and will win you a lot of games. Will he take you to the mountaintop once again? Personally, I doubt it.

BK did way better at ND and Cincinnati than LSU. For all the bad things you wrote, he had a ton of success prior to LSU. Maybe the game has passed him by

the fricking similarities to the Les Miles era

No.

- Excellent judge of talent on the recruiting trail. Is amazing at spotting under-recruited and under-rated players.
- Excellent at developing players, as evidenced by the number of players he's put into the NFL.
- Teams play hard and with passion and effort.
- Hires excellent assistants.
You missed big here

You always hope someone will grow/learn as they get older.
Obviously, that wasn’t the case with Kelly. Woodward - and most of us, fell for that hope hook, line and sinker…
P.S. Y’all still suck…

I think he was far too aggressive, especially on 4th down.
Cost us some games.

Guilty as charged concerning LSU!

Nice try. Three CFP victories vs. zero. More top 10 wins in three years than BK had in 12. You were saying...?

I feel sad for ND ppl. They think they are so vindicated. Meanwhile their new coach lost to northern Illinois, Marshall, only meaningful games this season they have played
Kelly left because ultimately you cannot really succeed at ND. He took a gamble and lost, but we lost too. We are still better off than ND

I actually like the LSU program. Hope y'all find a winner. I'd try to get Curt Cignetti as I think he's amazing. And culturally I think he'd fit in great as a former Bama assistant.

My brother, just read what you had posted and absolutely nailed it. I was on the Kelly bandwagon till the loss at Vandy based on how poorly coached we looked.

You forgot that he faked phony southern accents and liked to grind on recruits but other than that u nailed it.

Your definition of blowout must be very different than mine

The idea isn’t to be better off than ND. Hell OSU just beat them in the title game. Are you saying that LSU should be on equal ground with the Buckeyes? LSU needs to be better off than UGA, Bama, Tennessee, Florida, Ole Piss etc
