Would you give Kiffin a 90% remainder buyout clause (same as BK) if that was what it took?

Only if a booster says it is ok because they will pay it if necessary.

Whoever wins the Kiffin sweepstakes will give Kiffin whatever buyout clause that Sexton asks for. He's most likely going to be the highest paid coach with the highest buyout in his contract. Sexton is not going to let Kiffin not get PAID if he were to be fired.

Whoever we hire is going to have a bulletproof buyout clause if we get Kelly's reduced significantly, that's a guarantee.

Yup. Kiffin is gonna have a rock solid deal so if that's who you want you better be willing to ride or die.

I find it funny that so many get up in arms about the guaranteed money in coaches' contracts. It isn't your money, and they obviously had no problem coming up with the money they needed to fund the buyout in a very short time frame. So why does anyone care?

Probably some other things that money could be used for in the poorest state in America besides failed football coaches.

But it's not going to be. The money comes from boosters who are specifically donating it for the purpose of fulfilling the head football coaches' contracts. They aren't going to donate it to fix streets or build levees.

They don’t have infinite pockets. They still need to help fund NIL and the next coach too so it matters.

Yes if it were a 6 year contract. But there’s no shot he leaves Ole Miss with that.

It doesnt matter if its Kiffin or prime Nick Saban. If he is the guy you want, and the one you best suited to put you in the playoffs hunt every year, a buy out clause should not even be a consideration.

LSU isnt some dude buying an F-150 and walking because the warranty wasnt right.
