Young elite up and coming coordinators have made a mark

Georgia, Oregon, and ND are elite and took a guy with no former HC experience.

Hartline has crushed it with OSU

Because he’s not Lane Kiffin or Dan Lanning.

ND isn’t elite.

That being said, you would be hard pressed to find a better up and comer.

He’s an OSU grad. Played for a natty there and has worked up the coaching tree there, I don’t know why people think he would have any interest in leaving. He is their golden child.

If Day goes pro he takes that job

Even if it means leaving LSU

Ohio state has such a talent advantage I guess it’s hard to say if hartline would succeed

With that said Dan lanning also had a huge talent advantage at Georgia

I find this one way more intriguing than 90% of the names thrown out there

I don’t disagree but Day is going nowhere.

You have to talk to Hartline atleast

I am all for hiring an up and coming coordinator or head coach at a lower tier school.
I don’t want a proven coach (that still hasn’t won a national title) like Kiffin or Dan Lanning. They are going to cost way too fricking much and their contract will look far too similar to Brian Kelly’s.

Go take a chance and try to find the next Dan Lanning, the next Clark Lea, the next Kiffin. Someone hungry and willing to put up with this stupid arse NIL era. Pay them way less and for way shorter contract. If it works out then great and if not then you can easily get rid of them.

Day was about to be fired before their playoff run. Idk.

I agree, he has the makings of an awesome coach and I would be fine if he was the guy, but I just don’t see him being a possibility at all.

I hope not! And, I hope LSU does not call him, but I think he would do well at LSU. He recruits at a high level.

Their offense has been atrocious this year, particularly against a challenging schedule. Let's not go crazy here. Are you forgetting that Chip Kelly was their real OC last year?

There is a reason for their offensive drop-off this year despite playing a much easier schedule.

He may be good, but he hasn't proven squat yet.
