Just for fun since we are done with them. If Sloan really wanted MVB starting….

Does that change your opinion on him?

If his “offensive philosophy” is built around having a QB that could run, and he was basically hampered with nuss inability to run (and even pass really), and BK wouldn’t budge. Do you view him any differently?

It still doesn’t mean he’s a great OC, but maybe could have been a good one with MVB.

Someone said last night that Bk was lighting him up and he said something like, “well what do you want me to do.” If true, he knew he couldn’t make it work with nuss.

I posted earlier, it will be interesting if Wilson retains him.

There could be more behind the scenes than most know.

Sloan has been bad, but Nuss has also made him look even worse. I haven’t seen that bad of a QB in a long time

Hope we never see another (incomplete) pass from that dude. Ever.

If Woody wanted Sloan fired and thats what resulted in Kelly getting booted, I doubt seriously Wilson keeps him.

No. Sloan is shite. He has a shite resume and didn't deserve the promotion.

This is my point. If what someone said is true, and he basically told BK, “well this is your guy, I can’t work with him, what am I supposed to do?!” Then maybe he’s not AS bad as he actually is, albeit maybe one dimensional.

Nuss was bad. Nuss has always been mediocre at best.

Other way around.

How many quarterbacks do you see that are forced to throw cross field 7 yard come backs 10 times per game? How many quarterbacks do you know have every drive interrupted by substitutions every single play? How many quarterbacks have their own coaches scheme their best players (Green, Anderson) out of every other drive.

Nuss has not been good this year, but I don't think any quarterback would have success with this offense.

Not at all. Have you watched this season? His play calling has been high school level, and i DONT mean a high school team w a winning record. He is CLUELESS.

Yes, and BK handed him the keys to the program. He worked hard to fill our positions of need, but didn’t do shite when it came to the most important position on the field.

Sloan is the main reason the offense looked terrible. His play calling and inability to make changes in game and week to week. Nuss and the offensive line didn't help Sloan out either. But at the end of the day youre the coach and need to scheme better. Throw the ball over the middle. Youre only using 2/3s of the field.

I actually want to dive into this more.

Every time we need 5-8 yards, we run a come back to the far side of the field. The problem is all of our WR are fast, so they beat their DB off the ball, and when they come back to the ball, it becomes a contested catch, where the absolute best case scenario is a 7 yard catch with no YAC. We have been EXTREMELY forutnate this year that none of those have resulted in pick sixes.

Defensive coaches know that this is our game plan on the far side, so they just tell every CB to play trail technique. It's actually better for them that they get burned off the line.

Last night there were two plays that ended the Brian Kelly era at LSU.

1. The flat route to Anderson on 3rd and 7 before the half. That play had a 0% chance of success.

2. The 3rd and 9 after the A&M punt return. We had 6'7 Trey'Dez running a flat route with two 5'9 WR blocking for him. It of course went no where.

This season, almost every time we've thrown the ball deep, it's either been caught, dropped, or PI. We drew so many PI on deep balls. What does Sloan do on every 3rd and long? Screen, draw, or 6 yard come backer.

No one has guarded TreyDez Green successfully in 2 years. Sloan would rather use him on motion routes to the boundary than seam routes or one on one shot plays. I sit in the endzone, so I see how the offense develops and see what's open. Watching this offense go horizontal for negative yardage (over and over again) immediately after going vertical for positive yardage was fricking maddening.

My guess is Nuss shuts it down if he really does have a minor injury. Save some face in case they decide to ride with MVB. I hope Frank is encouraged to play Van Buren the rest of the way. If he looks serviceable to good, and you can hold Berry and Green, then the next coach has something to work with.

I don’t want Sloan around but after watching Nuss spiral into a ridiculous level of shite in every way I feel for him

If he was stuck w that by Kelly it would explain a good bit.
