He is but he’s likely too old for what we want

The time to hire him was in 2015 when we should have fired Les Miles.

He has done well everywhere he has coached. Doubtful he leaves Houston.

He was 54-47 at Tulane and it took him 7 years to build it to a championship level. He is 65 years old. Will LSU be patient enough to wait for a 72 year old to get them to a championship? I don't think so.

It’s taken him less than 2 years to get Houston relevant. Times have changed

While he coached Tulane, his family stayed in Houston. Would they move to BR…don’t know or would they stay in Houston

Houston has way more resources than Tulane.

Yes and Tulane was in a very bad spot when he came in. He tried forcing a couple of quarterbacks and stuck with his OC for a bit too long. He was 4-8 his 1st year and 5-7 his second year however he lost 4 games by 1 score.

Grandbabies are in Houston. His wife was flying back and forth to Houston. Why……oh why….would he leave Houston to move to baton rouge….for the wife to fly back and forth?

Willie is a great Coach, but he won’t leave Houston. Tillman Fertitta darn sure won’t let it happen either.

Yes, I would have hired Willy four years ago. What he did at Tulane was amazing. He is starting to do the same at Houston. The man is simply too old and probably would not like the pressure.

If he was 10 years younger I’d say yes. He’s 65 though.
