It's "cute" for a few days when as a political stunt, but we're now at a time when people who took Government jobs in good faith are getting shite on.

Even if you're in a non-government job I'll wager many of you know someone that is affected and maybe will be struggling if the income stops. I have 2 kids in the military and while they're fine because they are good with their finances they're telling me that morale is in the toilet. I'm sure this is the case for all "essential workers" having to show up and not get paid I haven't even touched on the Snap recipients.

Who blinks first? I'm hearing this morning that this could run into Thanksgiving.

I think only a tragedy like a plane crash from lack of ATC might end it quickly at this point

Yes—for now. But it’s a patch job.

Military service members did receive their October 15 paychecks, thanks to a workaround ordered by President Trump. He directed the Defense Department to repurpose unused research and development funds to cover military pay.

Here’s the breakdown:

What’s been paid

October 15 paycheck: Covered by redirected Defense funds.

Coast Guard: Also confirmed paid, thanks to an “innovative solution” from Homeland Security.

What’s uncertain

October 31 paycheck: Still unclear. The same workaround may not apply again.

Future pay: If the shutdown drags on, military personnel may be forced to work without pay until a budget deal is reached.

The only side that could blink is the democrats, because the Republicans stupidly left themselves with nothing to give. The Republicans should never offer a clean CR again.

The Republicans. They always cave and give in to the Democrats for fear of the MSM saying mean things about them.

The democrats think that hiding their waste, fraud, and abuse is more important than anything else. Amazing, isn't it.

The hotel industry is taking a major hit with the shutdown. Estimated that it has cost them over $650 million already.

They took a job being paid for by taxpayers knowing that they could probably get paid for life regardless of their abilities. If they are good enough at their jobs they would have no problem with getting a private sector job. We should no as taxpayers made to feel it necessary to guarantee their livelihood

I thought fat people getting on Tick tock saying how they won't be able to feed their 5 kids would be the thing that causes Repubs to cave.

Yet, here we are....

No chance. I firmly believe that if Republicans hold the line until SNAP dries up, the Democrats will have to give in to satiate their base.

That's right.

These starving kids aren't going back to Chef Boyardee after years of lobster and Mountain Dew.
