Burrow and Daniels covered up a lot of warts

Without them, no 10-win seasons since 2013:
2014 8-5
2015 9-3
2016 8-4
2017 9-4
2020 5-5
2021 6-7
2024 9-4
2025 5-3*
This spans 2 AD’s, 3 head coaches, 6 OC’s, 5 DC’s, Jake Flint and yes the great Tommy Moffitt.
When we don’t hit on a future top-5 NFL QB in the portal, we’re average. Pretty sobering.

Daniels is the only reason LSU had a winning record BK’s first two years.

The program truly sux. That is the ugly truth.

2013 we got the tenth win in a bowl game. Same with three of the four burrow/daniels seasons.
We have one, literally one, season with less than three regular season losses since 2012. That’s well over a decade.
The fact that it was the greatest team of all time has papered over what has been a major general decline into a mediocre sec program

Which begs the question, why is it so hard to win here consistently? Players, resources, support are all there

Exactly right.
Similar to how Auburn hit on Cam, except we did it twice. We just happened to have the worst defense in school history the 2nd time

We haven’t hired a good coach since Saban. Les was competent in his own way, but largely rode Saban’s coattails as far as program organization and discipline. But if Les hadn’t come to a team and program built by prime Saban he would’ve never won more than 9 games.
O and Kelly are just abject disasters for entirely opposite reasons, luckily O hit the jackpot in 2019 with Burrow/Brady and receiver talent plus Aranda being competent on one side of the ball.
We haven’t had a head coach who’s considered tactically or schematically involved/competent on at least one side of the ball in 20 years.

Underwood would have filled the void. Next time pay the boy if you want to win.

Well yeah. A top QB will do that. What is Vandy without Pavia?

Because LSU keeps hiring coaches that are past their prime. Much rather take a 5 year shot on younger and innovative, but hasn’t had the opportunity to be head coach at a program like LSU

It’s 3rd in the SEC for that time range behind the obvious Bama and Georgia. Everyone struggles to win 10 or 11 games consistently.

FIFY
Daniels was beyond mediocre most of Kelly’s first season.

Same for every team. QBs matter. Good ones elevate others despite the formation or play that’s called. We don’t have one of those.

agreed.....bama and georgia never seem the dip nearly as low and LSU....

Underwood was not coming to LSU…He used LSU to get a pay day from Michigan!

We had only one season with less than 3 losses in the Saban era.
2 or fewer losses is a good season.

Maybe you are finally seeing the truth about LSU.
LSU is pretty Good SEC program that periodically backs into great seasons. We are better than average, but we are not Alabama or Ohio State level consistently
