Not typically into horror, but have been having an envie for something scary or thriller.

For a frame of reference, I really like Mike Flanagan's work, and have watched all of his series on Netflix. Wanting something in a similar style. Watched Longlegs the other night, and really liked the vibe of that. Started the Pale Blue Eye last night and got about halfway through, have been enjoying that as well.

Any suggest are appreciated.

From, it can be slow at times but it’s worth it.

Well you clearly didn't read the OP

As a fan of Flanagan, have you seen Absentia (2011) and Oculus (2013)? Two of his early films that are both very good.

Also, Crimson Peak (2015), The Woman in Black (2012), and The Awakening (2011) have some gothic vibes that you might enjoy.

I have not, I’ll add them to the list.

I’ll watch the trailers for these too.

Check out the stickied thread at the top of the page for a bunch of recommendations. Deadstream (Netflix) is a good “found-footage” style horror that I watched based on a recommendation there.

Mike Flannagan and GdT are the best guys working in horror right now. I'm pumped for the new Frankenstein coming out soon on Netflix, made by del Toro.

If you like Flanagan, check out Midnight Mass on Netflix.

an oldie but a goodie that i always recommend is Candyman. i think it sort of gets categorized as a slasher in the same genre as Halloween and Friday the 13th, but it's way more than that. very psychological and has great atmosphere.

fantastic score too.
