NAACP: White Democrat voters ‘will not vote for black candidates’
by Larry Elder

The Supreme Court is considering a Louisiana redistricting case that could have a greater impact on U.S House of Representatives seats than the Texas and California “gerrymandering” maneuvers combined.

The New York Times wrote, “Democrats would be in danger of losing around a dozen majority-minority districts across the South if the court struck down part of the Voting Rights Act.”

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller tweeted, “How many people just realized that Dems had as many as 20 extra seats based on years of unconstitutional race-based gerrymandering?”

For the purpose of “racial justice” under the Voting Rights Act, Democrat legislatures and politicians created several “majority-minority” districts in order to elect black and Hispanic congressional members. The Supreme Court will rule on whether these districts violate equal protection under the Constitution.

ACLU Voting Rights Project Director Sophia Lin Lakin, who supports these majority-minority districts, said: “Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act has been a critical tool in safeguarding the promise that people of color can participate in our democracy on equal terms. It has been our shield against discriminatory maps and our answer to laws designed to suppress the vote. Congress passed the Voting Rights Act with overwhelming, bipartisan support — and reauthorized it again and again — because our leaders understood a fundamental truth: you cannot cure discrimination by pretending it doesn’t exist.”

NAACP lawyer Janai Nelson told the court, “It was clear that, regardless of party, white Democrats were not voting for black candidates whether they were Democrats or not. We know that there is such a significant chasm between how black and white voters vote in Louisiana that there is no question that even if there is some correlation between race and party, that race is the driving factor.”

Who says that they have to? Who says that minorities should just be given a certain number of seats? Her words are a perfect example of “destroying our democracy.”

So minority districts exist to create equity since white Democrats are racist?! Is this 1964?!

They felt that if they voted for him twice they’d get a whole black and not the same half black.

They never have voted for a 100% black man. More failings of the Democrat Party.

I am conflicted on this one. The black population of Louisiana has historically been underserved and used by white Democrats. That abuse is one of the reasons I have always voted Republican.

Still, I am skeptical of any political moves in Louisiana to disenfranchise one group to enfranchise another group that is proportionally already well represented.

Mike Johnson cares more about Israel than he does the black people of his state. I have heard him speak about Israel multiple times but I have never heard him say anything to fix the issues that plague Louisiana. I could say the same about Senator Kennedy.

The real question is: why do black people stay loyal to a party that clearly doesn't want them, respect them or care about them?

Black candidates and women are the 2 that will never get my vote. Neither can handle the power without going full blown retarded, doing criminal shite or just ruining everything.

Not one vote is being suppressed. Wherever one lives, if that person is able to vote, they can vote.

What is being suppressed is the horrible ideology of the democratic party. That is exactly what is hurting the Democratic party, its very own ideology. So they used race to create unconstitutional districts for promoting their ideology. Prior to those districts, those very same people could vote.

Believe me, I have been represented many times by people that I did not vote for.

Much like the illegal immigration they used to secure even more votes for their failed Democratic ideology though Hispanics did move to the GOP in greater numbers. Most people either adapt or move to a place whereas their ideas are reflected in the populace.

Either we are a populace that votes collectively for representation or a populace that allows itself to be divided, unconscionably, solely by race.

Ultimately, in any populace, the best ideas generally win.

It's true when the candidate is qualified, a conservative and has common sense. Democrats only look to check a box and it matters not on qualifications.

I’d like to know how do some states that have 40-45% republican voting blocks and yet have zero representation on the House. It’s always in the Dems favor.

And the Dems are crying about this?

frick this shite. Gerrymandering districts so that a specific race will win is wrong. Who represents the white and Hispanic voters in one of those districts?

These districts ALWAYS elect some worthless COMMUNIST.
