Spin-off of the food stamp riot thread.

Numbers 1, 4, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 &19 shouldn't be eligible to purchase in the first place. That's 8 of the top 20.

I would add 16.

Also, I wouldn't allow some cereals. Store brand raisin bran is fine, but Cinnamon Toast Crunch isn't.

Eggs/muffins/potatoes is quite the combo of very, very different things.

Is that a euphemism for McDonald’s egg McMuffins with hash browns?

I thought so too, might be an odd shorthand for frozen breakfast items. If that is the case, I'd add it to my list of BS items.

I'll negotiate with the other poster, I'd give them Maxwell House - frick buying them Community $$.

Powdered. Canned, as in condensed and evaporated milk, probably.

Guys, we’re coming up with groups for the SNAP chart. Give me some ideas.

How about eggs, muffins, potatoes?

I think they should be called ramen stamps and the only thing you can purchase is ramen noodles. Where else can you eat a meal for a quarter?

As long as there is ramen in the world, no one should go hungry!

Even worse than the McMuffin bullshite, the biggest misrepresentation in this list is including WIC items (which far fewer people oppose) and which make up most of the “responsible” purchases.

Here’s the real list with WIC items removed:

1. Soft Drinks

2. Ground Beef

3. Bag Snacks

4. Baked Bread

5. Fresh Chicken

6. Frozen Handhelds and Snacks

7. Lunchmeat

8. Candy

9. Frozen Pizza

10. Ice Cream

11. Coffee and Creamers

12. Cookies

13. Water

We need to go back to EBT aisle in the front of the store. And then only stock it it with powdered milk, rice, beans, canned tuna, and maybe spam.

I do not understand why some of that is allowed. It's should only be for reasonably nutritious foods, not junk food and candy.

Why do you want to put doctors, hospitals and big pharmaceutical companies out of business?
