I rented one for three days when my car broke down and it was a really easy and clean experience. Obviously it may change depending on the owner but as long as you treat it like an actual rental (taking thorough pictures etc) I think you won’t have any issues.

Yeah but i recommend videoing the car inside and out when you take delivery.

I've started doing this lately and love it, it's awesome! Will always do this from now on. The app makes it so easy. Whoever owns the car will leave it on the day of pick-up at short term parking right by the terminal with the parking ticket in the cup holder. You have to pay to get out or sometimes, there's a keycard b/c they'll have a monthly membership.
After all my experiences with the main rental companies at various airports, frick em, never again.
ETA: yes, take LOTS of pictures

Once when my son graduated from Navy basic training. Flew into ohare and the guy picked us up. Met him day of return trip and he took us to the airport. Only one time, but my experience was good.

I’ve used turo around a dozen times. Good experiences each time.

I had no problems with Turo. I remember picking up the car in a parking garage where the keys were secured in a combination lockbox

I rented a Lambo in Miami on Turo. Was super easy, the owner was great, had a blast. Get the insurance when you're driving a quarter million dollar car.
"But my auto insurance covers me when I rent."
Your personal insurance for your used 2003 F150 worth $9500 is not going to cover you for a Lambo worth $250k when you spin out of control and bash it into a few other cars and a street light pole.

Sounds like the douchiest thing imaginable, honestly.
You’ve been divorced, haven’t you?

9/10 times I've had great experiences. But it depends on the owner, like an Airbnb. Rent from 5 star rated owners, and if possible from a company with multiple listings. That way, if there is an issue with the car they will hopefully respond timely and have another car available.

Done it a handful of times, really good deal.
Just make sure they’re legit. Reviews and such

Used it two times and zero issues either time. Highly recommend it

Did it make you feel big and strong?

Myself and friends using it have also had good experiences. Like someone else mentioned, make sure you photo and document any problems in the interior/exterior on pickup. One thing to consider is the insurance. The normal protections your credit card and personal auto insurance don’t apply for Turo, but I believe part of the cost of renting with them includes some insurance with Nationwide or some other carrier.

Wife and I have used many times when traveling. Very easy, always cheaper than regular rental especially if you want a slightly nicer car. Highly recommend as long as the person you are renting from has good reviews.
