Why am I strangely expecting LSU to win this game?

Probably because it’s the most LSU thing ever. Lose to Ole Miss and Vandy and beat A&M. Get smoked by Bama. Lost to Oklahoma. End the season 8-4 and Kelly comes back for another year of mediocrity.
But, for some reason, I think we’ll put it all together this week and win the game. And we’ll have a bit of hope for awhile.

Been telling people all week we are going to win a game we shouldn’t win this weekend, then have 2 weeks of hype and getting fully healthy for Bama to go and lose a 21-13 game because our offense doesn’t show up

Both Ole Miss and Vandy are good teams.
A&M might be better than both...but it's not night and day.

A&M’s defense is legit.
LSU is anemic on offense.
LSU defense isn’t going to be able to control A&M QB the whole game, if at all.

Your only prayer is that A&M is a fraud, beating up the bottom of the SEC (opponents are 2-12 in conference). If they are actually good, LSU is going to take a beating.
20 ppg just isn't going to cut it in today's game, especially now that the defense is dealing with injuries.

A&M Defense let up 42 to Ark and ND. They're hit or miss. Sounds like they miss on the road. So defense doesn't travel.

I also have a feeling that we somehow win this game. Not because of any quality of ours, but because it seems like one aggy would find a way to lose

They’re scrappy and have an exceptional pass rush, but they have shown they can be scored on.
I would not be surprised to see LSU pull this out. I don’t think it is likely, but it would not surprise me. Sooner or later this team will have a game where it half arse puts it all together, too much talent for it not to.

Kelly ain’t going anywhere. He’ll replace Sloan and Davis in the offseason and shop for a portal QB to compete with MVB. In the meantime, defense will likely regress and we end up 8-4 again next year.
The buyout talk gets fired up next year if this happens again. And I think it will. We can’t let him run the program into the ground while we wait for Houston/Nuss/Haven to develop
