So what? IF true, that means that Mandami and Cuomo both also received 8-1 matching funds. You think they need to account for and return their funds, too? Sounds like a pretty good gig to me. Get paid big money even if you don't win.

I'm not the biggest Sliwa fan and the GOP should be able to field a better candidate than him.
However, he idea that he needs to drop out to help Andrew Cuomo, a total failure as governor, is ridiculous. Cuomo is the one who doesn't belong.
Either way, Mamdani is going to win and NYC will deserve him.

Read today’s WSJ brief op ed interview of Sliwa.
He said it was foolish to think all of his voters would vote for cuomo. He said cuomo killed seniors during Covid due to him sending infected to nursing homes. True.
He said cuomo resigned his governorship due to sexual abuse. True.
He said in 2014 that any people supporting the 2nd amendment are not welcome in New York State. True.
He said in 2014 that anyone pro-life are not welcome in New York.
To blame Sliwa is ludicrous. He said the demorats created Mamdani. There are right.
We’ll see in a couple of weeks if New Yorkers have enough sense to stop Mamdani.

This is all true, but sliwa in the race guarantees a mamdani win. If he drops out, at least NYC has a chance at a relatively moderate mayor.
If sliwa truly cared about NYC he'd drop out. He's ran numerous times before and has never won. He has zero chance at winning.

frick this dude. If NYC wants to elect a socialist, let them. As long as they aren't begging for a federal bailout, then let them turn their town into an unlivable hellhole. I'm not planning any New York vacations for the foreseeable future.

1. I DGAF if Bill Ackman (I respect his support of Trump - as a longtime NY big money Democrat, that did take balls) thinks no Republican should run for anything in New York, ever.
2. If NYC wants a Radical Muslim Marxist as mayor, we should let them see what that's like.
If they want to get behind a single opposition to Mamdani candidate, why not Sliwa?
(ETA: Bottom line - I don't like Cuomo or his brother Fredo. I do like Curtis Sliwa.)
