Waco/Waco: The Aftermath rewatch

Making my way back through these two shows on Paramount and I think they both might have set a record for historical inaccuracies and intentionally inflammatory political language.
If you watched these shows, you'd think the poor branch davidians were just living in innocent harmony until the big bad government showed up and ruined it. Poor David Koresh was really the new messiah and they just wouldn't let him write his heretical gibberish down.
If you watch the Smithsonian documentary, they provide evidence and an interview one of the survivors of the siege who said he saw them dump fuel on the floor and heard them say "light the fires". Then all the fires started at the same time.
No one was innocent (except the children) in this whole mess, but the series was incredibly one-sided and biased.

Very true. Updated OP. That's the saddest part in all this.

Did they nerve gas themselves too? No, it wasn't 'pepper gas.' The burned corpses with signs of severe spinal convulsions betray that line of bullshite.
If you're looking for regime bullshite, you can always read Joe Biden's official report.

Whether it was tear gas or nerve agant.... Either way the fed's explanation for flooding that small an area they knew had women and children in with tear gas b/c they thought that would motivate the women to get the kids was pretty fricked up.

It was CS gas, the FBI actively lied to Janet Reno to get approval to use it.
They had something like 48 hours of gas to use, they used all 48 hours of gas in like first 2 hours. I don't remember the exact number, just that they went through their supply way faster than what was needed.
They knew what CS was capable of doing in a small area and knew the Davidians didn't have gas masks that fit children. It was also known to be extremely flammable no matter who started the fire first. They purposely dumped way more gas than needed into where they knew the kids were convinced that it would make the parents get their kids out faster. The only problem is when they crashed their armored vehicle into that space, they blocked any hope of anyone getting out of that space and then they basically killed every person in that space with overuse of CS gas. Kids legit broke their backs from the spasms. They also knew some of the gas they put in could start a fire. Due to the multiple locations of the fire starting, I think both sides started fires. Fun times by daddy government.
Oh, the ATF took part in the lying for their little "showtime" raid. The lied to the governor of Texas on the warrant to get the helicopters they flew around. They knew there was no drug making equipment in the building, as the local PD helped Koresh remove it from the property after Koresh took over from the previous cult leader.
The whole child molestation isn't part of this story. While absolutely awful and Koresh should have been in jail for it, this was the ATF. They don't prosecute those crimes. This was the government raiding a gun shop. That's how the Davidians made money, they were a gun shop with the license to buy and sell guns. I doubt we will ever know what truly happened there with regards to this, the government listed some of their own CS gas canisters as proof of them having unlicensed suppressors.
The real story about the crimes of the government is much worse than what most documentaries show. Read the warrants and books out there. Even the FBI negotiator of this case that got removed during it is very critical of what happened.
There was a lot of Davidians that were innocent, some died in the fire, some got out during the siege, some got out during the fire like David Thibideau. A good bit of them had nothing to do with the arms business, child molestation, or what happened during the siege. They were just people that followed a religion they thought was real. Lots of people out there like that.

They were white people with Bibles and guns. Therefore, they had to die. Simple as that. All of the rest of it is window dressing.

As for the fire, the negotiator told them on the phone "I hope you have fire insurance."
The govt. could have arrested Koresh peacefully but they chose this instead. They are 100% to blame for all deaths.

They did do that, but we can look at the facts after the case these days and see that there is a man alive today with DNA evidence to show that his mother was a 14-year-old girl and his dad was Koresh.

But the feds didn't know that when they took fatal action. You can't ex post facto justify the feds evil and malicious actions.

I haven't, read my post above that one. I said the child molestation had nothing to do with this event as it was the ATF investigating a licensed arms dealer, nothing to do with children. He said the local cops/CPS investigating the child molestation and found nothing happened. I agree with that, but we know he did do it now and his arse should have been in jail for it back then.

16 of corpses supposedly had self inflicted gunshot wounds

There were only a few kids shot. One of the kids was stabbed to death in the tower part that they couldn't escape.

Why would anyone want to watch and relive this?

I mean the series aren't graphic. I think it's important to know ALL American history good and bad. Waco was before my time.

Government was 100% to blame

Waco:the rules of engagement.
That documentary is well done and with some very damning evidence of how awful our government treats its citizens.

The only innocents here were the children. Koresh and the adults and the government were equally responsible for the carnage.
