Hate to harp on it but Perkins literally didn't give effort the whole game..

The film reviews that have been making the rounds are tough to watch for the whole team but having #7 on the field last Saturday was like playing with 10 guys. An absolute disgraceful lack of effort by him.

He gave effort. Just really bad effort.

He hustled and got burnt multiple times.

Effort has always been Perkins’ biggest issue. I don’t understand why, but he has had several games throughout his career where it seems he doesn’t give a shite.

It’s probably more of a frustration thing, but it’s a bad look.

How about the time he was standing on the goal line with his junk in his hand while vandy’s running back was making a second effort to get in the endzone?

To be fair, he had some ballerina like skip jumps over the tackle pile after the play was over.

I noticed one play when the defense wasn't even set or had any playcall to go on and that was one of their better stops of the game

plays were late getting in to the defense, that's on coaches

From what I saw it was more of poor assignment FB vice effort. Too many times, I saw him on a straight-line assault for the QB or RB vice breaking down, containing, and making the play. One move was enough to create the separation needed to improve down/distance or gain a 1st down. He seemed to be looking for the big knockout play vice just doing his job. Hope he comes ready to play Saturday night; we need an impactful HP7 to help wreck this game.

Carter did a film review of Perkins. LINK Pan to the 9:15 mark to see some of the effort plays.

He was out of position and showed minimal effort throughout the game.

Consistency has always been HP's bugaboo. He's a little too laid back. Needs more fire.

I was amazed at how often he would fail to set containment. He absolutely sucked. Hard to judge effort, but his focus was very poor. Just did not seem to be locked in, and it was a very large part of why we lost.

Classic underachiever.

He was always able to rely solely on talent against lesser players in HS. They apparently never coached that out of him.

Lane figured out how to scheme around HP. Vandy replicated it. If you put trip receivers into the wide side, Baker’s scheme has HP out of the box and 3-4 yards off the LOS over the slot. He can’t do anything there. He loses focus /enthusiasm some point bc he is not involved in making plays. Then when he finally gets a chance to make a play from the box, he loses discipline and forces the rush instead of maintaining leverage to prevent an escape. You could see it building at OM. Baker needs to keep him in the box and/or on the LOS.

Seems more like he ran himself out of plays, missed assignments, and took bad angles more than lack of effort, to me.

Not sure what to make of Perkins. I've seen him do instead and take over games and I've also asked at times why isnt perkins spying the qb. I think k he the most lazy Talented player lsu has ever had

Day 3 pick at this point in time. Has had two good games (Clemson and Florida). Couldn’t even play well against Tech or Southeastern.
