Is LSU really taking a hard line on ghetto thuggery on campus this weekend?

I’d prefer to spend the day enjoying myself visiting with family and friends rather than catching a stray from some thug. Lots of tough talk from LSU officials but I’ll believe it when I see it.

The only thing in that long memo that will be enforced will be to arrest anyone who goes on the field after the game.

It's basically giving the illusion of a hard line. I get it, try it and see how it works before making sweeping changes, but all it's going to take is one violent event large enough to upend the whole experience for some people and they will never come back. I would rather go with the hard line stance, especially at all of the entrances of campus. National guard if need be. Just let everyone know from the second they step on campus that there will be no fricking around. Then have them detain the Aggies buses long enough that they have to forfeit so LSU can get a win.

I agree with the sentiment, but please no. BRPD and LSUPD should be responsible and capable enough to handle it if given the green light. This national guard stuff is ridiculous.
Spend that deployment money on bolstering local enforcement. These GI bill troops aren’t interested in policing a football game or hippies in Portland.

The levee is west of campus, isn't it? Most of the problems are on the east-northeast side, if I recall correctly.

They will overcompensate to make sure they don’t look racist and will arrest and/or hand out hundreds of MIPs to “disorderly” white frat kids.
