Was there some miscarriage of justice in his conviction or sentence? Why was this compelling enough for Trump to act on?

Only Trump can answer that decision.

I’ve been wondering same on those 5,000 Biden pardons as he was leaving. Did you see that? It was crazy no?

You know something is very stinky when Jotato issued a preemptive pardon for all the Faux J6 Select Committee participants.

What’s the readers digest version? I thought it was fairly straightforward he was misusing campaign funds and maybe even stealing outright from donors? Am I way off on that?

He says he had so-called fictitious donors, kind of like what ACTBLUE is embroiled in now. You should do yourself a favor and actually look at the reportage instead of asking others to explain it to you.

It makes no sense. If anything, Santos was an unequivocal embarrassment.

It makes no sense to release a guy in a federal corrections complex with a restitution judgment who isn't violent and is completely ruined? How does it make sense to keep him there? What did he get? 58 months or something?

ETA: Sorry he got 87 months.

He falsified his entire resume. His entire life and campaign was a lie.

Just like Obama. If it's good for him, it's ok for Santos.

Laws don’t apply to Republicans who compliment Trump.

If Santos was found guilty and incarcerated for misuse and theft of campaign funds, shouldn't we expect Comey, Brennan and dozens of other Bureaucratic State Skunks to spend years behind bars for trying to criminally subvert a duly elected president?

There’s a lot of whataboutism in this thread. That’s usually deflecting from something you can’t defend on the merits.

For the guys who stayed on topic, is this about he go too long of a sentence?
