One of the most interesting predictions on US Debt Clock is the new state credit unions. Ie not for state employees but all state citizens with 1%-3% interest rates on all credit cards, auto loans, and mortgages.
This would eliminate most private bank competition which seems anti-capitalist but would end usery rates set by the private central banks - end the fed - and would fund local governments in lieu of property taxes and income taxes.

We'll get universal high income around the same time his FSD actually works

His FSD works great. You’re just poor and miserable

A work optional society will collapse under the inherent sloth of humans.

If everyone gets universal high income, doesn’t inflation go through the roof? I can’t even fathom how that would work.

It's ok. Money's not for everyone.

Glenn Beck wrote a book on this.
Basically the Klaus Schwab, WEF crowd is preparing for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
They predict AI to take over all jobs, so they’re wondering how to account for human life.
They think UBI will be the answer, giving everyone just enough to live off of since there won’t be any work.

Right. Eventually they’ll just give out actual government cheese because the inflation will be so bad

Ive come to realize most humans cant use their freedom for their own benefit. They use it for their own pleasure first and destroy their instincts.

Can someone explain this to all the complete idiots that might be reading? Frick those morons, but they need some help and I’m too tired to give it.

Yes. We see inflation after a small stimulus. Rapid inflation after repeated stimuli and extended unemployment benefits. Any form of universal income will be the end of the economy as we know it. We will see a whole new market emerge and it won't be pretty. The whole globe will have an economy that looks like North Korea and Venezuela had a baby.

So with the new 2nd Industrial Revolution driven by AI and robotics productivity and economies will go through the roof but the vast majority of it won’t be based on human labor any more.
Robber barons can’t be allowed to live like kings like what happened the first time as that would result in a bloody revolution with so many unemployed discontented taking up arms, so government will need to provide a universal income to keep the masses at bay.
Like today’s welfare but with an actual livable income much higher than the poverty level since there would be so much more largesse coming from the modern economies.
Think of the really rich states / countries that give away money to their citizens because they have huge natural resources and income coming from them like Dubai and Alaska but an order of magnitude higher.
I’m guessing there will still be upper classes of those with more ( OT ballers) for those that develop the AI or design / build the robotics.
Call me selfish but as a gen X most of this won’t come to pass until I’m gone or old enough to not give a shite.
I’m more interested in the interim transition period in the nearer term, ie elimination of income and property taxes and the availability of affordable credit.
Keep all of what you make and buy a house, boat, fishing / hunting camp at 2% interest.

Yes. If everyone were given 1 million dollars tomorrow, purchasing power would rapidly decrease as hyper inflation takes hold. Soon the poverty level would simply be at a much higher income level.

Hell, free beer is good enough.

Every one focuses on the far off future possible UBI, frick that who cares, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Just think of the closer no taxes and low as frick interest rates.
Writing has been on the wall from Trump, Abbot, and DeSantis re eliminating income and property taxes.
Combine that with 3% or lower mortgage, consumer loans, and credit cards and consider what that will do to your lifestyle now before we start losing all the jobs 10-20 years or more from now.
