I also do not see any strong dems at this time to challenge.

It seems like a second term would be a done deal.

I'd vote for him again.

John Bel Edwards is definitely a strong Democrat by Louisiana standards.

Doubtful. I'm not ruling it completely out, but I think it's at about a 10%-20% chance of him running for Governor again right now.

Would Graves or Letlow run? Kennedy?

None of them are going to risk pissing off the state republican party by running against a sitting republican governor unless his popularity tanks like Jindal's did at the end of his second term.

Graves, maybe if the LABI and other industry folks get fed up enough with Landry to get behind him with financial and personnel support.

Letlow was rumored to possibly be Landry’s horse in the 2026 Senate race. Julie Emerson has said she would run only if Letlow doesn’t, which leads me to believe either of them would be the Team Landry candidate. That means…Letlow wouldn’t run against him as an incumbent Governor.

Kennedy I used to like and want as Governor, but him not running in 2019 proved to me he’d rather just lob verbal bombs from a State Treasury or U.S. Senate position than actually get in and govern. He won’t run.

Word was that.....Trump talked him into staying in the Senate, he was needed there most. I can believe that.
