He needs to be held accountable

2 baseball championships and a women’s bball championship, really hard to say he’s the problem.
To be honest, BK was as safe a bet as any with his experience and track record. It’s just the contract, but that’s what it takes to land those coaches.
At some point something’s gotta give. You can’t just tie a team down with $100M guaranteed, regardless of what happens.
We’re basically banking on BK being driven to win “just cuz”… but it basically solidified LSU as a mid tier program.

The Rant will tell you these things don’t matter
quote:true, but emotional LSU fans don’t want to hear this

They matter, but you guys do realize LSU had to compete in a much less competitive market for Baseball and Women’s Basketball?
They are great hires but there isn’t as much demand across the country for success in these sports, hence less competition if you really want to go there.
The two biggest money makers where there’s brutal competition are football and MBB, and Woodward has failed in both

Jay Johnson is carrying the athletic dept. Few people care about women’s basketball unfortunately.

Who do we replace him with? AD has to constantly tickle Donor balls

BK was honestly the best and safest hire at the time.
In retrospect, do you take a chance on a first time head coach like Lanning to rebuild your program? Maybe. But that could've also blown up in your face.

Well, he’s the man to tickle balls

Look at Napier, Look at Hugh, Lincoln. BK might have been the best at the time

quote:Look, I love LSU baseball and Woody hired the best college baseball coach in the country. He hired a legendary women's basketball coach and she won a title. Even gymnastics won a title, but those sports don't make a lick and the 2 sports that do, Woody has failed miserably. You can't be a success if the 2 revenue generating sports are a failure.

Absolutely.
Both things can be true, it was the best hire at the time and it isn't working out.
Also, it can be true that Woodward may be be trash and he may not be. Either way, his gamble looks to not be working out.

I would argue that there is more parity in college baseball and womens basketball. There isn't deep NIL money going into baseball and wbb, so we have a chance. In football, there are at least 50 programs that can outstanding us.

I'll say this,
Woodward thought he was making the most logical choice and on some level you have to appreciate that.
Instead of going and grabbing someone that had maybe 1-2 years of success and people we're buzzing about, he went after a guy that had been consistently winning ant a big program with less talent, and thought well if he can compete there than he can definitely compete here.
I've hated Kelly since before he got here and didn't want him. But if you look at it through the eyes of Woodward, I can't say it was a horrible idea.

No he wasn’t. Some of us who watch CFB knew this. He was a terrible hire and Woodward needs to be fired with him. Woodwards last two football hires were Kelly and jimbo. Baseball and women’s basketball don’t pay the bills. Woodward should not be allowed to make another football hire

You're not replacing the AD without a President.
You're not firing Brian Kelly without an AD.
You're not hiring a president without Jeff Landry's approval.
Elections have consequences.

^^^^^^^ ding ding ding.
So at this point, we all should hope that we don't get some batt-shite crazy President. Because things will go south quickly.
Buckle up, there's at least 2 years of watching this play out.

It’s awesome we won baseball and women’s basketball
But two programs only at lsu make money: men’s basketball and football
And so far he has failed on those two hires

Just as it is for football, the SEC is the deepest, most talented conference in baseball. This post is complete nonsense.
